EDIT: I changed the title of this from "How an Amoeba Learns to Paint" since it sounded like a tutorial.

This is the best art tutorial I've ever seen.
IS IT THO!??
I'm here learning evolution through another perspective. The F?

Life* tutorial
Beats bob ross in two touches
Step one: grow eyes
Amoeba’s hierarchy of needs is really out here trying to displace maslow
>Pooping is more important than eating.
I... uhh.... You know, nevermind.

Everyone, do not just click on links.
@@KanashiAtisuto Yeah, that's true, you never know where they might lead. At least john wick's link is safe.
@@KanashiAtisuto I agree, although I think the specific link in question is a great link.
I really like how it intentionally yet so unintentionally paves a path on how to understand the fundamentals of the things we consider art
Never thought a single cell organism could see and paint better than me. Touché
We've all been out-painted
And all of that without any hand or anything
shytende aka Tamanoir or brain, or touch receptors
I've never connected so much with an amoeba in my life. I too struggle to draw when I have to poop, eat and exercise all the time
#relatable the struggle is real
you mean swim, not exercise
Did anyone ever tell you that you have beautiful eyes?
Smooth as an amoeba
It’s the Dipster

is this a mgs reference?
i thought this was actually just a scientific break through where they found an amoeba that could paint

@•PikoraGhoul • Crazy stuff happen all the time, and a life size amoeba painting the mona lisa would not surpirse me. Just kidding it would. Our boy *the* was probably reading the painting part as a metaphor for something else (like decorated shit or something). Maybe it is like the music some spiders make to attract mates. It is not stuff we would call music, but what is and what isn't music isn't always clear. Some may consider the tapping of a keyboard an instrument, and the typing of words by slamming keys the rhythm.
I love how this is absurd and silly yet deep and philosophical at the same time. It actually made me think about the foundation of my life a bit.
@тαρ мє αи∂ ѕєχ ωιтн мє Luna I'm sorry are you referring to Mattias Pilhede's stories or did you somehow check my channel out? Just asking because this is Mattias' video but you said that under my comment
Finally, with this advice I can paint! All I need to do is eat poop and swim!
Block Builder and eat or you can’t poop 😆
Add commas to that list!
might wanna add some commas to that
No need for commas if you are brave enough
@@kneight4927 that makes no sense
I’m so proud of this little friend, keep learning lil dude
I love that line “once I saw the structure, I saw it in everything” beautiful in it’s simplicity but also, very relatable. And of course the last part is too 🤣
Mattias is truly a modern greek philosopher, he has the ability to make a simple story with a message that makes me wonder what the meaning of life is.
Not only entertaining but also it has so much things to learn from
Yeah! Such as swimming, eating and pooping.
This was a great way to tell the journey of an artist when starting out in uni (or on their self learning art path). That last bit was very much like the moment where you fuss and over render paintings, and your art sense has given way to overthinking. I'll never forget the important things of being an artist; swimming, eating and pooping.
I remember the times when we used to learn amoebas in Biology class. The teacher described them as a "half-alive" cell organism.
*But now, I understood, that no matter who you are, you can paint!* Very motivational imo
Indeed
Yes that's right
those are probably viruses, not amoebas
@@sleepyninjarin7971 amoebas are also half alive cell organism. Viruses aren't cell organisms
@@ulifedmotion3727 amoebas are completely alive...
That "Swimming, eating and pooping" at the end really got me. Kudos
I think this is less about painting, and more about surviving in a gruesome landscape
My my, what big eyes you have
All the better to see my existential dread fill me up
Deary
All the better to paint you, sweetie
the dislikes are accidentally from amoebas with fuzzy shape vision
Great to see you posted a new one today, Mattias. I had to stop it just 2 seconds in - just to give you props for starting out with, "Hello everyone, I am amoeba..." Now I can watch the rest of it...
This man never skips eye day
Moral of the lesson: expand your eyes so that you can see perspective, details, and you can suddenly draw and this art is amazing. Good art lesson
This is so profound and clever in its simplicity and cuteness. As someone who also got lost in the detail, both in life and my art, losing my sense of the whole picture in the process and now working hard to regain it, I can relate to this video with my full self. Thank you, little amoeba. ❤️
You are one of my favorite channels here on UA-cam, and I’m glad that u are always improving and surprising me with that crazy ideas, I really like your channel, pls continue. (Sorry for my bad English I’m Brazilian)

after i watched this i went and made a little list in this fashion of something large i wanted to learn and i realize it does actually help to visualize it like this
this helped me make sense of my 5-year-and-ongoing art block, I got too good at being critical that nothing I can't even be proud of my own work anymore.
you have beautiful eyes, buddy
Meh I'll move on
The last set of eyes is cursed
The punch line at the end always smacks me from my blindside
This amoeba’s painting journey (even the end) is deeper than my entire life story..
*I have none to tell*
I did not expect a story abotu swimming, eating, and pooping to absolutely demolish me like this. Existentialism is harsh.
Never thought an Amoeba would teach me more about life than any book ever did.
Animations is good, but your writing is what's beautiful.
All your stories are beautiful :D
This is better than the most story time animation channels

Let's get this one out of the way, no one expected that.
This guys vids are deep and lighthearted at the same time.
It's very evocative of Cosmicomics - The Spiral where a snail develops eyesight to better perceive his lover.

Everyone has amoeba in them. Just that they haven't grown to their fullest potential. Give your inner amoeba some time.
This video taught me so much more than my art instructor! I'm not even exaggerating!
I discovered your channel one or two days ago, but I found here some very useful tips. So, thank you! 😊
I like the way you explain art. It's realistic and straightforward. You put a big accent on balance in an artist's life, which is great.
Also, I Iike that your animations tell simple and meaningful stories; the mesaage is kind and is told in a clever and lighthearted way.
Keep up the good work, keep learning new things and keep sharing them with other people, they help a lot!
1:25 OMG THOSE EYES NO GET THAT AWAY FOR ME
How is your work so beautiful, educational & fun at the same time? Thank you 💚
The final eyes look terrifying
Nice video man. I'm new with english, but i'm happy that i understand a lot of things in the video. Meeting someone who, even on video, thinks like me and who had experiences and "strange" reactions to those experiences but who managed to learn what would like to know makes me rethink whether it really is impossible for someone like me to start drawing. I think I will try again to learn too. Ps: Sorry for the bad English, I'm learning this too.
Mattias:how confused are you
Everyone:yes
I actually really like the last part, Swimming, eating, pooping
Amoeba sisters called, they want to recruit you as the amoeba brother
Still love this channel after all these years
I was literally tearing .... till the very end hit me. lol. This was a major shot of wisdom. Thank you. 🙏🏾
Its eyes went from Professor Layton to creepy Flash animation real quick
So it's basically a complete introduction to art in three minutes. Well done, sir.
I now understand why I suck at painting and making music, because i didn't swim, eat, and poop. thx bro, now I can work on it for future improv.
Maslow walk so this amoeba could swim

mattias, your videos reach my soul at a whole new level
I'm not even kidding these are so deep despite the joking-ish manner
That was so wholesome and i love it.
still the best content in my news feed. keep up the good work
Met this channel recently and did not expect this kind of thought and advice that helped me move.
Continue your work!
This is such a sweet video. Motivated me in a very cute way. Amoeba is every single person that draws hehe cute journey 😊❤️
this was beautiful
it felt very spiritual in a way
thank you for making this type of content
Just discovered this channel, and oh boy am I here to stay!
Good to see my brethren getting themselves out there
It reminded me of this species of amoeba that can eat human brains from the inside if inhaled. While the condition caused by inhaling the amoeba is extremely rare (the U.S. states that had the highest rates of such a condition had like 1-3 people being diagnosed with it per year), it was extremely deadly, with those having said condition having a 98% chance of dying from it.
Florida is one heck of a state...
why is this so heart touching
Another masterpiece of a video yet again. I just wanted to say, your videos are so insightful and motivational. I keep coming back to your channel and rewatching your videos over and over again because they're really relatable and I've learned so much from them.
I don't know if you need to hear this, but *please* don't stop making videos.
Your videos never fail to put a smile on my face
you have really creative stories
God, I love this channel.
You just explained Maslow's Hierarchy in the most backwards and beautiful way
Your videos make me happier
I'm a new viewer on ur channel and I like that you give deep thoughts into your video but always end it on a rather funny note
