Composed in the latter part of the 19th century, Scriabin's Étude in B flat minor was a part of his wider set of 12 etudes Op 8. Composed between 1894 to 1895, this period played a pivotal role in shaping Scriabin's compositional style, shaped by his education at the Moscow Conservatory and his deep appreciation for the works of Chopin.
Released in 1895, the collection of etudes garnered immediate recognition for its blend of technical brilliance and emotive strength.
◼️ PERFORMED BY: RUSSELL HIRSHFIELD - The American-based pianist has given recitals all over the world, giving concerts across the United States, Brazil, China, Belgium, England, Serbia, Costa Rica and South Africa.
He received his musical training in New Haven, CT and later studied at the Eastman School of Music, Boston University, and the University of Colorado, studying with Robert Spillman, James Avery, Anthony di Bonaventura and Alvin Chow.
