Would have appreciated a bit more detail on how they work--does it automatically convert a certain % to an annuity?

Informative presentation on these new target-date income funds with an annuity feature. That said, I am not a fan of target-date funds or annuities. The latter are typically not liquid and have additional fees and costs. The former typically have rather mediocre performance results.
