Thanks for the video. You have sold me on the Kayak. Also love the swivel seat on the other video! I will definitely be attempting to fabricate that design on my kayak.
So YOU'RE the one that bought the last one at the boat show! LOL I stopped by Eddie's place one day to get eyes on the Whale Shark, and he only had one left...it was already sold but still at the boat show. I did finally get to see one, though, and I'm seriously impressed with the features and little details that Eddie included in the design. I have a Bull Shark, with both drive systems, and the Whale Shark is pretty much an upgraded and upsized version of it. Another new kayak is not in my immediate future, but when one is, the Whale Shark is a serious contender! Stay Safe!
We drove from Biloxi to his shop in Alabama, and his brother told me he had the last one at the boat show, so we turned around and drove straight back to the coliseum that Saturday. I had to leave it there and go back and pick it up at the close of the show. It turned out it was Mr Eddie's personal one. My husband like it to much he wanted one also.
@@chuckb4896 LOL…now that you mention it, that’s right! I made an empty spot in my kayak racks this past weekend, so it’s VERY possible that in the near future, I’ll just have to have one, too! Stay Safe!
Did you do a deal on y’all’s trailer - we just Baugh a whale and a bull and need a trailer for them now. Want to make one we can drive in the water and unload them like a boat.
These are made by Vicking in China. The model is VK-40 and you can buy them for under $550 + shipping if you buy 3 or more. Don't know what the shipping cost and you have to pick them up at the docks. You also have to install all the pieces yourself. The manufacturer says it actually has a 771 lb weight capacity and weighs 121 lbs.
The red one is nice!! Looking to get my first kayak. Always fished from boats, but I’m ready for another challenge. How do you like the whale shark? Not too big of a kayak?
@andreasspyrou7688 stability is still a 10. I can stand up and throw my cast net for bait, which is a big plus for me. I've tracked myself at 3.4 miles an hour (I'm 48 and not in perfect shape) It does catch alot of wind and slows with a headwind and a crosswind will make it a little harder to stay on a straight course. It does not turn on a dime. Plan to make wide turns. No matter how choppy I've never had waves come over the side. It's heavy and is a big pain if you plan to pull it over sand. We have a double jetski trailer modified to hold ours and only dock at the launch. Overall, it's still a wonderful kayak, and I enjoy myself greatly.
Seen another UA-camr with the pedal drive version of this and it was making quite a bit of noise. And a fin drive that seemed quiet in the water. Does your prop drive make a bunch of noise it shouldn't be? I am asking because I am thinking about picking up one of these and I am more interested in the prop drive.
So im buying one from Mr Murphy this week. My question is have you had any issues with either of the drive systems? I cant find any negative reviews and that just really makes me curious.
Hi, Chuck! I can't speak on the Whale Shark, but I have a Bull Shark with both drives and enjoy them both. I've had no problems at all with the fin drive, and the only problem I had with the propeller drive was a slight casting mark on the body of the drive was causing a creaking noise. A piece of fine sandpaper and 45 seconds cured that. Not just the drives, but the entire kayak has been sturdy, reliable, and enjoyable...Southern Salt did great videos on the Whale Shark and the Bull Shark, and I've done a handful on the Bull Shark. Whichever model you choose, I'd be willing to bet you're going to be happy with it. Stay Safe!
I have the propeller drive. I've never had a problem with it. I have discovered that people are horrible about throwing old fishing line in the water and I have had to cut line out a dozen or so times. My husband had the fin drive and he says because of his bad knees it's easier for him to work. The black piece that his fin drive sits in cracked and Mr Eddie swapped it out because it looked like a factor defect. Customer service is excellent.

Thanks for the video. I am going to be purchasing a Whale Shark in the next month or so.
Cool video

@@Smith_Happens They are really nice kayaks, especially at their price point. Stay Safe!

Is it a stable kayak ? And how about it's speed ?

It's 13 feet long, but I love it. But it isn't turning on a dime. You have to plan on a wide turn.
After some time, what's your rating on this kayak? Out of 10. What about speed ? Or stability?

Mine makes a small humming noise it I'm trying to peddle fast but my normal peddle speed doesn't.
@@Smith_Happens thank you. His had some sort of weird clicking noise happening as he pedaled.

Do you fish tournaments?
I fished the Bay Rat Bash and I am signed up for the sheephead showdown
Have you been satisfied with the kayak? I live right up the road in Madison MS!
Very very much. We usually only fish salt, but I can't imagine it would make a difference in a river.
