This is a nice design. I have bought it and fiddled around with it to fit on my kayak. I like that it is of adjustable length, so it can be used on kayaks of different widths. Also that it snaps out to a slightly longer length to reach the kayak in distress. My only concerns: 1) it is designed so that the shorter, yellow webbing end goes on the kayak in distress. Thus, the rescuer must approach the distressed kayak so that it is on the same side as the yellow webbing strap. 2) putting it back together on the water, after rescue is complete, requires a bit of concentration, dexterity and two hands, and letting go of ones paddle.
I just bought one and was confused that it is a bit different. Took me a moment to figure out how to pack/fold it again after I disconnected the two parts. The label reads "MK II", so I guess it's an improved version. Care to make a short video that shows the new version?
