  • Building a Locost 7 frame, at 240x speed acceleration. This is the start of my build and represents roughly 50 hours of work between 4/21 and 4/28/2007 to construct the basic frame. Run at roughly 1000x fast forward, it will only take you seven minutes.
My entire build log, with lots of specs, pictures, and info is at LocostUSA.com/f... .

Love the vid, very amusing at times! I like the way that you condensed it to make people realise that its not a weekend project.....well done!

Fun video. The soundtrack produced by it is hilarious. :D Took a peek at your build log, very impressive, what with the garage and everything. Thanks for the inspiration.

I appreciate that you call things by their proper name. There are too much morons on youtube who call their homebuild replicas Lotus Seven.

I drive a Ferrari replica based on a Merc SL500. I am more proud that it is a replica than I would be if it was a Ferrari. A Ferrari is only money, my replica is a vision of ingenuity and vision.

smart video, I've been reading the book on how to build one of these (by ron champion). Think I'll have a bash at building the off road buggy first as it's alot simpler but would allow me to practise/perfect my skills. Keep up the good work

@jalatecompa No way. That would ruin the video. If you want to listen to music, turn the volume down and listen to your own music. I hate it when videos have interesting stuff going on, and the sound is drowned out by crappy music.

Then why would you continue watching it if you felt it was a waste of your time. Thanks Dave for the timelapse, my only suggestion would be to drop the real-life timelapse sound, and add light background sound behind you doing a talk over what has been achieved / learned / issues overcome etc during those hours. Hope to build my own some day.

Too much fabrication and not enough beer drinking and procrastination for it to be believable as genuine.
