- Finally, after six months of filming, editing, and hard visual effects work, I have finally finished Lego Star Wars: What If?.
Unlike my previous postings of Stop Motion Lego films, this one is new and not filmed in Digital Blue. It was filmed with a Panasonic DV camera by taking still pictures with the memory card then, in Post Production, edited to a certain framerate to move along properly.
This is also the first Lego Star Wars video to feature an original storyline, which was scripted before filming began. And most importantly, this is my first Lego and UA-cam movie to feature a wide variety of visual effects, most notably, The Lightsabers. Unlike many other people who use such programs as Adobe After Effects, I achieved this effect with Microsoft Paint and Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition, because I could not afford to buy something like Adobe After Effects.
The talking Lego scenes and various other effects shots were achieved in almost the same way.
What If various events in Star Wars were altered? How would this effect the characters and galaxies they live in? In this storyline of a What If in the Star Wars Universe, portrayed by Lego Minifigures, you're about to find out.

I've watched this for years. It's still one of my all time favorite Lego animations. The nostalgia is real. I miss these days. An elegant production of a more civilized age.

After all of these years and even switching accounts. I was recommended this classic of my childhood. I am glad I was reminded of a simpler time.
Watching this again, all this stuff has such an impact, from the fights themselves to the sound effects used for things like lightning, the dark lightning and enigmatic atmosphere of everything.
I don't know this is just what you'd call a very "Star Wars" thing, I kind of miss when stop motion was more popular, when the creative stories were well written and funny, when UA-cam was just a bunch of creative people doing what they enjoyed.
As time has gone on it's become more of a recognised business, it's all about algorithms and playing the UA-cam game, some don't have to bother at all, others can take breaks because when creativity is noticed the rewards are great.
You don't have to stick to an upload schedule or anything when you're creative.
I feek ya. I miss when it was more about people’s hobbies and stuff on here. Such good times from back in the day
in star wars it is said that anakin is the chosen and that is the one to destroy the sith....... and obi wan said "it was said that you would destroy the sith...." fast forward to Return of the jedi and darth vader kills darth sidious... basically destroying the sith.

thats my point, I used a Olympus e300, a photo camera. the results are much sharper. for the lighting i used actual sunlight. the cons of that are a slight flickering because each different frame varies a bit, yet the overal result is a believable outside setting.
and the sabers were just tons of work, i went to photoshop each different frame:(

I needed something dramatic, to build up tension, only to be interupted by Star Wars music.

No, I never thought of making a Lego Force Unleashed movie. Perhaps when I learn more about the game I may. I get the sound effects from various different stuff. Games, movies, downloads. Hard to find good lightsaber sound effects that are different instead of just ripping a few from something like Jedi Academy

best lego stopmotion and for those who are mad because the legos arent moving this is not toy story get a grip they are plastic toys that cant move and he put a lot of time into this so be happy this is the best lego stopmotion i have ever seen i am subbing

Actualy, Anakin Did Fulfill His Destiny In Episode 6 When He Turned Back To The Light Side Of The Force & Threw Palpatine Over The Railing. But The Sith Came Back Anyways So I Think That As Long As There Is Light There Will Still Be Darkness. That's The Simplest Way I Can Put It.

Fantastic!!! That is the best stop-motion Lego fight scene ever created! I was also impressed by the little amount of set movement there was and the outstanding picture quality. Again, a really well done film keep it up. I noticed you used paint for your sabers. If you want to cut back on time, I've found a pretty descent saber program I could recommend

Thats what happened in The Star Wars Ep III Game alternate ending bit.
Anakin Makes the jump.
Stabs Obi wan.
Kicks Obi down the High Ground.
Walks off.
Emperor comes out of Shuttle (Guarded by Clones).
Emperor Says the galaxy is the Siths.
Emperor gives Anakin new Lightsaber.
Anakin Ignites saber and stabs Emperor.
Clones put Guns up.
Anakin says No the galaxy belongs to me.
Clone Troopers put down there guns and agree to Anakin.
From one lego animator to another I have to say that the speaking, and the other special effects were impressive, keep it up. One suggestion, go bigger on sets next time, with everyhting else so good I'd love to see some awesome sets

Wonderful variation of the Star Wars story! The background could have been better (not only black walls), but the light saber effects, sound and music was splendid. Truely great work!

No, it wasn't filmed in a dark closet, it was filmed in my room, at night time. I did it at night so I didn't get that sunlight and because most of this movie is supposed to be indoors. And yes, I did use a DV (Digital Video) camera to film this. Just sometimes it goes out of focus when you have your hand move the figure 1 frame at a time. But I get your meaning. Problem is, I don't own Still Picture Camera. Thank you for the comment and constructive critism.

no, anakin was the chosen one, because at the end of the last movie he dystroyed the emporer because his inner self was revealed when Luke was dying from the lighting. Wow, this makes me sound like a total nerd, lol.
Actually, that would require him not even being born. He was made entirely out of Mediclorians thanks to Darth Sidious. Because of that, he has the strongest mediclorian count, and a power of the force avalible to surpass Yoda's, meaning that Luke has a huge amount of force too. *Gasp* Plot for Episode 7!
