I must challenge #27. Claustrophobia is just as much a "fear of being confined in a space where escape is difficult" as is Agoraphobia, which is generally considered a fear of crowds, deriving from the Greek word for marketplace, "agora". Your editing of the definition created an incomplete, and therefore, false definition.
From the NHS definition: Agoraphobia is a fear of being in situations where escape might be difficult or that help wouldn't be available if things go wrong. Many people assume agoraphobia is simply a fear of open spaces, but it's actually a more complex condition. Someone with agoraphobia may be scared of: travelling on public transport.
yea, i was having similar thought about that one, even got it wrong. seems to me claustrophobia does involve escapability, to me. (yep, i made up a word)
Sean, enjoyed this sets of quizzes a lot. Got the Hawking award at 41/50. Did not quite get the correct answer to the bonus question when I answered "joustling" instead of "jousting. Still nostalgic about celebrating our 50th anniversary with my wife at age 79. Quite happy that there are still a good number of neurons working in my head. Thanks. Greetings from Virginia, USA.
A lot of fun. Thanks. However have to critique Q27. 'Fear of being alone where escape is difficult.' Agoraphobia is the fear of OPEN spaces. Claustrophobia is the fear of closed spaces where escape is not possible. Claustrophobia better fit the clue. Thanks again.
The answer to the bonus question is Jousting. Altogether, I had five incorrect answers. Many thanks, Sean, for another great general knowledge quiz! Best regards from Mel Stiller in British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦💕
@@davidseamans59 --- Yes, I did, David 🤣 How could forget that red maple leaf? 🍁 🇨🇦😆 PS -- Are you also a Canuck or am I seeing words you didn't type? 🤔
Jousting for bonus question, but I think agoraphobia question was worded awkwardly. I got 38 correct so just squeezed into the Hawking category lol. Great fun and informative! Thanks for posting. I just subscribed as well.
I’m sure the genius in Pakistan would object to many of the questions. British and especially Americans have a great advantage. I’m American, 70 years old and according to you deserve the Einstein award but many questions were USA specific. Thanks for the workout.
40 right; the medieval knights engaged in jousting competitions. Appreciate the "Canada" flag question, which was like a bonus point for me! Thank You for the challenge!
Technically the surface of the sun is the hottest of the three given choices because lightning doesn’t have a temperature. It’s electrical charges and the resistance between them while moving through a medium (air) causes it to heat.
And also, I never said anything about the temperature of the rest of the sun compared to the surface? You’re just making up what you want to read it seems.
You really can’t read or quote me? I said the surface of the sun is the hottest of the three given choices (in the quiz). I hope someone takes care of you on the daily.
Love your stuff here! Curious as to the measure of genius. My ability to name trivial things like the Beetles location in a month or my ability to solve complex problems? 😂 Going with other great thinkers in history that found themselves in a similar situation. Like Einstein's inability to tie his shoes.❤
Einstein said that imagination is far superior to acquired knowledge. In the world of science, I suspect. A fabulous memory does not genius guarantee. Plenty of idiots savant out there.
Einstein was asked what his tel number was. "pass the directory. That's my tel no" You don't know your own number? "Why should I remember it if I can look it up.... more important things to remember.."
Not too bad for a 10th grade drop out. 38/12. I knew jousting before I read the entire question. Also, I challenge the answer to question #27. I believe claustrophobia is correct.
No claustrophobia is not a fear of being alone - it's a fear of being in an enclosed space with no sense of escape. Claustrophobes freak out even if they are with people as they feel the 'walls closing in on them'. Being 'alone' has nothing to do with it.
@@KptKrunch9481 After re-reading the question and separating the wording to myself, I concur, you are correct. Fear and difficult to escape are the words I honed in on. I suffer major claustrophobia if closed in a space not much smaller than a coat closet. I can give myself a panic attack with just the thought of being temporarily buried alive even while knowing that I'll be released within a certain but unknown period of time
36 out of 50. I would be "as intelligent as Alexander Fleming"? No way! I just have a good memory. BTW, I loved the 4th act, when we have to recognise what is in the picture. Very entertaining, you definitely got a follower. Bravo!
We all know that we watch these to make ourselves feel smart. What would anybody's score be if it wasn't multiple choice and if nobody counted their guesses? I like the "who want's to be a Millionaire" music.
I went in expecting to suck on account of my mind discarding trivia to conserve space for analysis and creativity, but still got 38-39 (answered claustrophobia), + the very easy bonus. Though at least 5 were guesses using logical reasoning and more by process of elimination. Maybe I should try out for Jeopardy after all, and see if I can "game " a decent chunk of change out of it.
I just recently found your videos and like your cool way of going through the questions and answers. You manage a fair sort of difficulty in tackling diverse subjects. Do I A) hate it, B) like it or C) think you're a great quizmaster -> sure, all three are correct! Managed 35 / 50 - so Fleming is my new hero. Keep it up....
Jousting is the bonus answer. I managed 45/50 missed two because I didn't stick to my first thought. Im kicking 70 in the arse and I am so happy to still have my faculties.
I got 35. Bonus question is jousting. I am looking forward to the twenty question quizzes as the fifties are a bit long for me to concentrate 76 years old.
There's one mistake: Agoraphobia is the fear of being in open spaces ("agora" beeing Greek for something like a market place) or even leaving your apartment. Claustrophobia is the fear of confined places like, for example, elevators, closets or air planes.
38. Second guessed myself about three times. Jousting? Claustrophobia,I think,is actually correct. I picked this over the answer given. This would give me 39. Just the same,a fun quiz.

I mostly associate agoraphobia as a fear of going out, or leaving your residence for fear of something terrible happening,
So do I ,fear of going out is the right answer
I think that is the generally accepted meaning.
As a friend of mine once said, "What is the point of having a high IQ when your friends don't know what IQ stands for?"
😂👏👏
Then you need smarter friends.
Good one!
IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient.

Besides, there are different majors in college, or without college, different interests to focus on.
