If you got insulation in your attic you might wanna pick some up and find out where the strapping is. If your house has trusses that ceiling should def be strapped and that's what your gonna wanna nail the shiplap to
Actually those would be called joist not trusses. All and all though I’m glad to see people actually doing things for them selves and not calling over prices company’s to do things that they could easily do themselves.
Its a one floor house if theres an attic above that ceiling buddy. If she had rafters she would have joists or if there were a second floor they would be joists. If she has a truss system then they’re 100% not called joists buddy. A trus is a trus.
It would have been best if you got rid of that popcorn. It could have asbestos. If you ever remove or someone else removes shiplap there is going to be issues. This was not the answer
I totally disagree. If the popcorn ceiling is in good shape and why would she be removing her Shiplap ceiling? I have heard it’s best to leave it alone than to scrape it off just in case it has asbestos.
Not to be in nitpicker, OK maybe I am, your attaching the boards to a ceiling joist not a truss. the trusses are what holds up your roof; not your ceiling.
Rafters are built on site with rough cut measured and cut to fit. Truss are prefabricated and delivered to the site. Both have bottom joist. There are tons of types of trusses. Even floor!
I don’t think she once said she was a contractor and typically a contractor is a company who’s in charge of the work Being done in which is done by carpenters. Then you have what’s called sub contractors which is sparky, plumbers, low voltage and so on.
Oh my god. This ceiling looks disgusting. Please save the next owner the hassle of removing that crap. Just stick to a normal ceiling. Is it called shitlap? Cos it looks shit.
Show us the final look plz. Looks good so far..
Wow. You are so productive!! Amazing work!!

*On another video I thought she was saying "So I decided to paint the SHI+ BLACK" so glad to know it's "ship lap".*
I want to do my ceilings like this
Wow You go girl !!!!!
You are amazing!!!!! Great job!!!!!

Can we see the final results in part ll?
🥰🥰🥰
What? No show after? What's the outcome!!
Love the colour!!💙💙
Popcorn ceiling is very easy to just remove.
Test sample of popcorn material for Asbestos first.
@RWM
Even if coated in layers of
oil paint?
So interesting.
You are a tough cookie
Love your work
Are you study for learning this or you watching videos ?
Woah! You are amazing! Your husband owns you a small fortune!
Smart 🤓👍
Why use shiplap? Is it just looks ?
she win diy just for actually using a caulkbox !!
U just took it to another level. I feel so inadequate. 😭
Traded one outdated style trend for another outdated style trend
🤣
Style is a personal choice. When you do it for others you're outdated.

You know how to do a lot
Where did you learn how to do so much ?
Interior decoraters say shiplap is now out of style.
Not to be in nitpicker, OK maybe I am, your attaching the boards to a ceiling joist not a truss. the trusses are what holds up your roof; not your ceiling.
Actually a truss is one unit that is rafter and ceiling joist in one piece so therefore she is attaching to a truss
@@charlievanlandingham567 I love being corrected. thank you sir. No arguments here.

@@charlievanlandingham567fucking thank you holy shit theres WAY too many people on here saying that hahaha
Everyone thinks they are a contractor now lol

Where’s the end result!!!!!!!
Why do you say shipman instead of board?
Shiplap
Sorry, aber that‘s not how to install it! You‘ll just get mold under it if you continue…
Joists, not truss
take a shot anytime she says shiplap
Where did you learn all you know about DYI?
Fron another diy lol xD
Hubby!
So she didn’t show us the FINAL!!! Thanks a lot for NADA 😂
😍😍😍😍
Its rare to find a woman that...
A) knows what a brad nailer is.
B) knows how to use said brad nailer.
If you have daughters, teach them just as you would a male child. They’ll thank you later.
Rafters not trusses lady
🔥🖤
Probably want to use at least a 16G nailer for this. Not a Brad nailer (or 18G)
No necesita marcar todo con solo un clavo que le ponga en cada uno y ya quedó marcado y de ahí se
On the ceiling ? 🤣 that’ll look horrid
Yeah I'm not a fan of nickel gap ship lap either. I would opt for v-groove instead
Just paint the ceiling.
Should have removed drywall, the ship lap won’t be as secure
2-1/2 brad nail says otherwise
@@charlievanlandingham567 not if the boards are 3/4 to an inch thick
This is not the job for a brad nailer.
