You said Cressida correctly the 1st time. 😁 My mom bought the brown one in '79 & passed it on to me when I turned 16. I hated it becuase the license plate said MEOW2U & everyone teased me and all it had was an 8 track player so I rocked Earth, Wind & Fire and the bEe Gees! I grew to love that car. My dad sold it in '96, broke my heart. I just saw one on the road today. The straight 6 was so powerful. This one is beautiful, if its available, I would buy it in a heartbeat!
my dad had a 1984 toyota cressida silver, manuel transmission 254,000 miles. He sold it 5 years ago. man i was just a kid watching my dad drive it around. brings great memories. these cars last forever. he regrets selling it now.
while owning Ford, Pontiac, Caddy & Dodge cars, I heard the steady smooth & quiet drivetrain on my buddy's '83 Cressida in '93 ...changed everything now just Lexus
Oh my gosh. I have a 1978 that got in a wreck a long time ago and this video (in 720p) was just beautiful. A great inspiration video for when I restore it! Never take this video down!
very nice. in 1988 first i bye 79 cressida in maroon color after that i bye in white color just now i have 82 Corolla but cressida 1980 model very very beautiful car i like that model.
The Cressida actually evolved into the Avalon. It was simply a coincidence that they began making the lexus around the same time they stopped making the Cressida. I own a 1984 Luxury Wagon and have worked at Toyota for the last 10yrs
Sweet looking car. I've always liked this generation Toyota Cressida. I'd prefer this over the Avalon any day. Front-wheel drive is fine for some cars, like the Mini Cooper or small cars. But for cars of this size, and with more people riding in it, rear-wheel drive is definitely the best way to go.
I saw a 1982 Cressida Yesterday and in very good condition it was not for sale but it was in good enough condition to be on your lot I believe the correct name is the first way you said it
That's essentially a '79 Lexus. Oh man, I miss Southern California when I hear music like 8:49. Radio stations out there play stuff like that every week!
@ 10:37, this engine is the last year that was offered; 1980 came the 5M, this is the same engine family that's in the 79, if you look carefully you can see the changes that were made when they went to 5M (GE) meaning injected, on this 4M and 5M where the Distributor is located, is the crankcase vent tube, and where the blank plate for the fuel pump location is the return tube located on the 5MGE, on the driver side of the Block right in between the engine mount.
These are good-looking cars. My neighbor in Germany had one in "burgundy red" (?), which was a rare treat as literally nobody bought these back then here. I always liked the design of this particular Cressida generation. Toyota's best-looking cars were made in the late '60s and throughout the '70s in my opinion. After that their designs got boring.
While the Cressida was still sold in some markets as new models well into the 2000's.... From Wikipedia: "The Mark X is the successor to the Mark II which was first introduced in 1968, was known in the North American market as the Corona Mark II starting in 1972 and the Cressida from 1977 to 1992 and was the predecessor to the introduction of Lexus."..
Fantastic Nathan! Note the boxy Rolls Royce/Bentley cues on this car. You can really see how Toyota wanted to go upmarket from this example. Later they 'knock one out of the park' when they create the Lexus LS!!
This 1979 Cressida still has the older-style TOYOTA letters on its tailgate. Also: the name Cressida is derived from the lead character in William Shakespeare's play, Troilus and Cressida.
hi nice to meet you here! i'm from tokyo, japan. so i guess that's maybe based on toyota mark2 which is called GX51 or GX41 generally. sorry if not...anyway, i actually enjoyed your video! bye bye
these look cool to be honest I think it is cooler than any Mustang or muscle car. It is so differient from other cars on the road muscle cars are of course cool too but you see a number of them around and not many cars like this
Cereal Marshmallows Hey Nathan I sent a package to you I was told to send it to a Lakeside address I got tracking because of whet happened with the last package I sne that took about 2 month to arrive. it says it was delivered successfully please confirm it is there It is in what Canada Post called a smartphone box
my dad had a 1980 station wagon like this automatic. beautiful condition he loved that car until it was stolen in 1985 and damaged n then scrapped. what a pity
These cars are definitely classy for a Toyota, it looks more like an upscale European sedan, I wish Toyota would go back making a RWD sedan again (don't like FWD all that much)
Classic American used car salesman:"that's about it for dings"... OH! there is 6-10 more that should just pop out! "LIKE NEW" Gotta love these used car salesmen. The bad ones are too easy to see through. This dud can't even pronounce the model of the vehicle. All that said & by the end this guy is driving around in a parking lot with kids & people all around around, talking & holding a cell phone, talking and holding a camera in his hand while trying to sell a car.Very entertaining indeed, which is why I gave this video a thumbs up!
Well no shit sherlock, he's not going to call it a piece of shit while he's making a video to sell it. At least he goes over everything and makes a video unlike some of these lazy slubs that put up 1 picture and call it "Like new".
... and to think that some humans think their comments are respectively considered when using grade school swear words like yourself. Awe, I see, you feel a little hostility because of my original observation of the classic used car salesman? Do you need a warm loving hug little one? I love that you try and defend his actions like he is one of your own. We should clump all of you sub par humans into a Zoo for the majority to peer at! Its past your bed time now little one... i'm done with you now.
the most frequent thing i hear through the video is "as nice as it gets" LOOOOL i'm just kidding i appreciate the effort it's just as nice as it gets hahahaha
Pronounced "Creseeda." Were quite a few of them on Australian roads in the 80's. Also came in a wagon which was quite long so had a good amount of load space. To drive they were pretty average but nonetheless another sturdy Toyota...

I had one, same make and colour.right hand drive. Had to sell to purchase my home. A great family car.
Cereal Marshmallows Thanks for the comment. I miss that car.
My uncle had one of those, they bought it brand new in 1977, beautiful and soft rear wheel drive car.
I had a neighbor that has a dark green color and has two doors, always dreamed of owning one ever since I was a kid.
Very true!
I got one for sale the same color and all
I had one in dark blue. Sweet running car...
Oh my gosh. I have a 1978 that got in a wreck a long time ago and this video (in 720p) was just beautiful. A great inspiration video for when I restore it! Never take this video down!
Great driving cars. I've had the pleasure many moons ago.
I am looking for one so bad in South Africa. It's the first come I ever loved.
very nice. in 1988 first i bye 79 cressida in maroon color after that i bye in white color just now i have 82 Corolla but cressida 1980 model very very beautiful car i like that model.

Your first pronunciation of "Cressida" was correct.

But for cars of this size, and with more people riding in it, rear-wheel drive is definitely the best way to go.
Cereal Marshmallows :)
Beautiful I think it's even better looking than 1989 Cressida
I saw a 1982 Cressida Yesterday and in very good condition it was not for sale but it was in good enough condition to be on your lot I believe the correct name is the first way you said it

Christian W i like this generation of Cressida, the MX32, and the generation i own (1986) MX72 Cressida.

@misstia1979 It was made before Lexus, too. Cressida was discontinued because it overlapped with Lexus.

Great car.
These cars are definitely classy for a Toyota, it looks more like an upscale European sedan, I wish Toyota would go back making a RWD sedan again (don't like FWD all that much)
you still have this?
Very nice
btw you pronounced it right the first time! lol
How much does a vintage car like this usually go for?
About 2-3 grand. They do not have a classic value, but since the condition is so nice it is no $800 well used up one.
dang man.
dear God
Is there a clean Cressida 1984
USA Cressida like Cressida Dick, UK we pronounce it Cresseeda
Nice the CRESSIDA,beautiful and great shape one...
انا اعشق سيارات الزمن الجميل ده
