You can get apartments in On Nut for $277/month on the Tesco Lotus side of Sukumvit Road if you sign a one year lease. I think the apartment was called Golden Corral or Golden Palace. Something like that anyways.
I am all about eating local and I love Thai food. So, 250US for food (eating out) and 400US for condo, I am already winning before I pay for water, air, cell, internet, insurance, gas and motorbike. Thank you for the video. Very good info.
She is such an adorable young lady. I would love to visit Thailand someday. I dated a Thai girl for a few years when I was young. We were engaged but she left and went back to Thailand
I take it for unreasonable amounts you have the startup costs of the real estate outside of whatever Thai town... gets rid of rent, electric and I saw they were using roof water. No special visa for trading someone else's money .
WOW!!! Im kicking around retiring in SE Asia.... I have watched 100's of videos trying to educate myself... That is by Far the Best Video Ive Ever Seen... A video production with image clips, maps and outside standings would be what Baan Smile needs, frankly. Otherwise, this post sounds just like a book. A you tube book….😀
Dave Ramsey always says you should spend no more than 25% of your monthly take home check after taxes on rent, but sadly that is tough to find, unless you get roommates to spread out the cost.
Thanks for information. I'm still pondering retirement in Thailand. Think maybe I'll try for 6 months next year. I want to be able to live rather than exist. Thanks again
I am very frugal and I found your prices very realistic, but I wish you would have given the price of health insurance in Thailand. It is so easy for your motorcycle taxi driver to get in an accident.
Thank you again for the great video. Thumbs UP 👍👍. I plan to purchase 80 % of my food (liver, ground beef, ground pork and fresh eggs) from the fresh markets in Bangkok. I want to believe it is possible to avoid seed oils and eat clean in Thailand for around 300 us a month.
@@AsianRomance Glad you asked; My goal is to avoid grocery stores and shop at the fresh markets in Thailand. I have watched a couple of expats visiting the fresh markets and seen them purchase raw meat, vegetables, and fruit which have zero seed oils. I am not trying to eliminate seeds oils from my way of eating. My plan is to minimize the amount I take in to about 20% ie (5 days a week I eat clean (cook at home)). This is not for everyone but it works from me in Japan so it should work in Thailand.
@@AsianRomance To be honest I do not know what they are using to coat the pan or skillet with. If I had to risk a guess it would be the old standby Canola oil. Not trying to change the world just want to live to the best of my ability.
I used Air BnB, in Patts & got a great Condo in central for approx $300/mo for 3 months. I eat out at the malls or street food. Where do I get that Dtac sim card. for 2000 baht, I really want that!
Why not. Some Thai salary only around 15000baht. $1000 is around 24000baht. Just living like local, and you can survive. But if you eat western food daily, want enjoy night life, you can't survive.🤣
Your the best jayna/Jana.. always professional pleasant and engaging in your presentation … and way tooo cutie ..

Jomtien has same size condos for $75 to $100 in older bldgs.
All are furnished

Yes $1,000 a month gives you an good lifestyle in Thailand. Its not super rich but it cans sure get you by and maybe ahead if you budget accordingly.

I was spending US 1000 per week for years.
Lately though my vacations became much more bearable than enjoyable
Stay away from bars and the people in them and you will save money and be happy.
Agree, though what about foreigners that frequently attend them, should we stay away from those also?

Thanks for the tips!
Thanks Khun Jayna, that are wise words. 🙏
Awesome video again.

Excellent video. Thanks 😊
I am inspired
Do they prohibit food or just don't have a kitchen... I think the small refrig I bought came from Thailand and I cabed it to my apartment in the us.
Most condos have a kitchen, but some do not. Choose accordingly depending on what are your personal needs.
toothpaste, deodorant, mouth wash, and condoms. Your funny lmao

Difficult to do that, since it depends on your age and health status. The price is pretty much different for everyone.

Good stuff
How to your avoid seed oil? They use it in almost everything.

@@Nemesis093781 Sounds like a good plan.
What type of oil do they use for cooking at the street food stands?

Always thought what’s cheaper eating street food vs cooking?
Street food for the win
@@thaikru why? Could you do a vlog & do a comparison
Street food is pretty cheap.....granted I'm not a huge eater but 4 moo ping and 2 sticky rice fill me up for a total of 80 BAHT.

Look for "Net Immortal" on one of their websites - or stop by any DTAC store.
If I don't need a car it will save a lot. Health Care should be added to that not seperate I think. No happy ending add more for condoms. Lol
Blow up your food Bill and waistline
