I actually can't guess the words either, but given that I've spent most of my life outside the Philippines I think I have a good excuse. However, and this is not pertaining to Janina solely, I think rich kids in the Philippines must also learn Filipino. I know English makes them sound more sophisticated, but there have been multiple studies conducted that being bilingual has tons of benefits for the brain. Filipinos are lucky enough to have English taught to them mandatorily, but that doesn't give the excuse to neglect our mother tongue.

How sad that a lot of Filipinos who literally live here in the Philippines do not know the depths and breaths of the Filipino language. In olden times, i think they would be called ingrata. As for me I will never teach my kids to forget the language, it really depends on the upbringing of the parents.

Why is there so much hate on Janina? did she ever claim she's american? I mean I have only watched a couple of her videos but it's obvious she was born and raised in the PH, it was never a secret. I dont understand why people are calling her fake. You can tell just by listening to her accent that she's Filipino. Maybe she's one of those kids who were raised by their parents speaking english, because my cousin's daughter (my niece?) is like that and she cant speak tagalog at all. We use alibadbad here in our place (somewhere in Laguna) it means inis, disgust or something like that... example: kanina ka pa ha, nakakaalibadbad ka na, isa na lang susuntukin na kita... then balimbing is a fruit but it also means na two-faced (doble-kara)... example: alam mo ang balimbing mo, kanina sabi mo kakampihan mo ako tapos natalo lang ako sa unang round bigla ka na lang lumipat sa kabila...kabuti/kabute is mushroom but we also used it for those people na biglang susulpot (dahil para silang kabute)...

No she's probably not trying hard, I was born in the Philippines but moved to the US four years ago, now it takes me a while to process the words and translate it into english. If you have lived in a foreign country for a while it gets harder to process tagalog words into your bran.

We use alibadbad here in our place (somewhere in Laguna) it means inis, disgust or something like that... example: kanina ka pa ha, nakakaalibadbad ka na, isa na lang susuntukin na kita... then balimbing is a fruit but it also means na two-faced (doble-kara)... example: alam mo ang balimbing mo, kanina sabi mo kakampihan mo ako tapos natalo lang ako sa unang round bigla ka na lang lumipat sa kabila...kabuti/kabute is mushroom but we also used it for those people na biglang susulpot (dahil para silang kabute)...

No she's probably not trying hard, I was born in the Philippines but moved to the US four years ago, now it takes me a while to process the words and translate it into english. If you have lived in a foreign country for a while it gets harder to process tagalog words into your bran.
