My dad took me and my two younger brothers to see this on the last day of school in early June of 1985. It had opened a couple of weeks before that and it was getting such great reviews we begged our dad to take us and his deal was as long as we all passed the school year we’d go. All of us, dad included, were huge fans of First Blood, and really all of Sylvester Stallone’s movies at the time. The theater was packed. It’s one of my all time favorite movies to this day. Loving your movie reviews, Jesse. Keep up the great work, Bro! 👏🏼👏🏼🔥🔥

Another brilliant reaction Jesse. Can feel the emotions & genuine feeling of what Rambo would have felt after losing his chance of happiness so soon after finding it. Great picking up of the sets & score too. Can almost imagine the feeling of action in the cinema that people would have felt watching it. Well Done👌🏻👍🏻
This was probably the best reaction to this film I have ever seen! One thing this film always gets criticized for, for some dumb reason, is the love story. People always say that Co doesn't really matter, she doesn't add anything, her kissing Rambo could have been skipped etc. Are they INSANE!? But there are so many that feels that was unnecessary. I don't. Co helps humanize the film, show the human side of Rambo & the hope for a happier life, & the consequences of it all when she is taken from him. YOU picked up on this, supported it 100%! Finally a reactor that GETS why Co is a must in this film & so much of the actual meaning of the story she contributes with. The same goes with the POW buddy as well. Most that react to this film never give him any second thought really. You applauded the man's courage & self-sacrifice when he told Rambo not to give in to just save him. Trust me, you are first on UA-cam to even care. All the action, spectacle, hell even Stallone's insanely well-shaped body does not matter if it's not grounded in some heart & soul. A meaning & purpose. An emotional investment. Films used to have that. We know today, unfortunately, what it means to a film with just dragged-out action that goes on forever & you barely even know the characters & why they are even fighting. The 80-ees were special. I am a woman & LOVE the Rambo films! So it's not just for boys. Promise you'll watch the remaining 3, all 5 of them to the end. Since you love Colonel Trautman (as anyone rightfully should), the third film will be very special for you, I think! And the 4th film... I hope you have a strong stomach.
Thank you so much for the kind words! You made my day and I'm really glad you enjoyed the reaction :) Sometimes a love story isn't needed, but I agree with you that it works great in this film. Rambo's spirit and outlook on life has deteriorated over the last 10+ years and it was incredibly heart warming to see just a glimpse of happiness and hope on his face. She elevated him to a better place in such a short amount of time, and he'll never forget her. Also, I couldn't help but respect and admire that POW. He's clearly a leader and the heart among that group of POW's. When we fist see him, he's strung up and being punished. I'm sure this is because he's the one in the group that always has fight in him and refuses to let the bad guys break down his spirit. That fight is always within him and I love seeing how he displayed it! I will definitely be watching the remaining films! And man now I'm really looking forward to part 4 after that endorsement lol! Thank you for watching and commenting!
With all the sequels, it just makes me think there's more heartache and pain in store for him. Ugh!!! But I'm looking forward to all the sequels :) Wow she does still look amazing!

1. IMVHO this is the best of the bunch. 2. The Soviet Commander/Steven Burkoff also played the heavy in "Beverly Hills Cop". 3. There's a must watch/share with Sly and Kurt Russell called "Tango and Cash" where a cop says to Tango and says, "He thinks he's Rambo." Tango/Stallone says, "Rambo, is a pussy"🤣 4. Charles Napier/Murdock😇 also played Lt. Boyle in "Silence of the Lambs" 5. Julia Nickson/Co could get it.😍😝😈 She tries too hard on that accent though.🙄 6. Filed entirely in Mexico. 7. People today want to tear apart so called action movies of the 80's; I'd put that up against any crap of the last 25 plus years, damn I'm getting old. Wow, it's been that long since fun movies were made?
These 80's action films are just magic! It's so impressive what they were able to do without all the fancy tech that's available today. I think that helped 80's actions because it makes it more raw and real. I'll take this action versus any of the CGI or green screen stuff that's so prevalent today.
@@jessebatres6895 Truth, imagine being a teen in the 90's when all these great movies were released. I was lucky I didn't have to I lived it. From Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) to Tim Burton's Batman (1989) it was special.
Great reaction. Your hype makes me feel like I'm watching it all over again for the first time. And by the way, we DID go to the movies almost on a weekly basis back then. There was always some propaganda and a cultural agenda being pushed but it was NOT like today. There was still an actual "somewhat" believable plot you could enjoy and authenticity in the characters. Men were men, women were women. Was it perfect? No. Was it orders of magnitude better than what we have now? 100% With respect to your channel? To quote one of the greats ... I'LL BE BACK 😆
Thank you so much Robert! I'm glad you enjoyed the reactions! It's impossible to not get hyped for the badass 80's action films. You guys had so many amazing films come out year after year, and it must've been amazing to watch these on a consistent basis in packed house, the lights diming, the audience excited. So Awesome!! I agree, it feels like there's so many terrible films coming out today to either appease audiences or of course to just milk every ounce of profit possible. And for the vast majority, you can see that there's no heart or anything that can truly captivate you. Lol! Love that last part :) I've got T2 dropping a little later today.
The closest thing we have to this is the first Jack Reacher movies and maybe the Mission Impossible movies... I feel like there aren't really anymore great action stories to tell that aren't just slight variations of the 80's action movies unless you change it to more tech based and future based, which kinda sucks most of the time unfortunately.
I 100% agree with you. We only have a few recent gems in the Action Genre. I really love the John Wick series as well because of the amazing stunts and action sequences. I wish Hollywood would give us a great 80's style action movie at least once every few years though.
Thanks so much brother! I can't express how excited these kinds of films make me. But then again, I love so many genres so I get pretty passionate over many of them lol!
They definitely don't! I wish they would release a few movies like this today. Just fun, no bs, no filter, all out action! I'll be checking out part 3 soon :)

Tango/Stallone says, "Rambo, is a pussy"🤣
4. Charles Napier/Murdock😇 also played Lt. Boyle in "Silence of the Lambs"
5. Julia Nickson/Co could get it.😍😝😈 She tries too hard on that accent though.🙄
6. Filed entirely in Mexico.
7. Movie magic: The backfire of the bazooka would burn the men in the back.
8. I'd be pissed too if I were being set up for failure. 🤬
Yes james cameron wrote rambo 2 infact a stunt man got killed making it he blamed himself for it ,Rambo iii his friend gets captured you will love it like I did brilliant most gory movie rambo 4❤😊
After you finish the 5 Rambo films, please do the 6 Rocky films, & 3 Creed films ...you'll enjoy them...of course, assuming you have yet to see them. 🙂
Her name is Julia Nickson, she is also in a movie with Chuck Norris , called, Sidekicks! Check it out. Also please react to Wind River, starring Jeremy Renner, ( Hawkeye ) and Elizabeth Olson, ( Scarlett Witch ), and The Accountant with Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick, and Eagle Eye, with Shia Labeouf, Michelle Monahan, Billy Bob Thornton and Rosario Dawson!
I looked her up and she has aged like fine wine lol! I have some of those films on my list :) Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Carnt wait for 3 4 and 5 they get better and better I promise
"What bastard writer would do that?!"
James Cameron and Sly Stallone wrote the movie. Take your pick.
Those sons of bitches! lol! I was blown away when I found out James Cameron had his fingerprints on this. Man that dude just knew what people wanted. And obviously Sly has skills in the writing department as well. Love his story about his Rocky screenplay. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Yeah this one hands down is the best one part 3 is also really good its very underrated i hope you react to that one as well.
I'll definitely be checking out part 3! I'm interested to see where he picks up after all this chaos 💪 Thanks for watching and commenting! :)
@@jessebatres6895Well it didn't age well. The 3rd one. He becomes friends with Bin Laden in Afghanistan. because it was back in the day when US didn't know jihadi John was a bad guy. But don't let bizzare story stop you from enjoying it. Great action.
I would love to see your reaction to Rambo 3, it's a pretty great sequel also.
I'll definitely be reacting to part 3 :) With Halloween coming up, a lot of October will contain horror films but I'll have some action film reactions right after Halloween. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
The other two guys are James Braddock and John Matrix.
LOL! I looked up James Braddock since I wasn't sure who he was and of course it makes sense now. And you're right about the GREAT John Matrix. If all 3 of them had gone, the fight would be over in about 20 minutes lol
@@jessebatres6895 what fight? They would have walked into an empty camp! 😂
From Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) to Tim Burton's Batman (1989) it was special.
part 3 part 3 part 3 !! 8)
With respect to your channel?
Keep cursing man your the best reactor
Thanks so much brother! I can't express how excited these kinds of films make me. But then again, I love so many genres so I get pretty passionate over many of them lol!
He was already there for 5 years. he has another 5 years to go.
Shit that long! I figured maybe 2-3 years tops. Hell, 10 years still sounds okay after all the destruction. Lawyer came through lol
They don't make'em like that anymore. No bs no political correctness, just blood and balls. 80s action movies will always reign supreme
They definitely don't! I wish they would release a few movies like this today. Just fun, no bs, no filter, all out action! I'll be checking out part 3 soon :)
God will have mercy Rambo won't
Hell yeah man! Dude that should've been a quote they put on the film poster. Love it!!
Wait until you see the expendables franchise
The Vietnam war ended April of 1975✌️
Obvious he didn't see Karate kid he would have noticed...........
When I watch the Karate Kid, I'll have to come back and see what the connection is between these films.
please do Predator 1987, you wont be dissappointed
I'll definitely be watching Predator :) I think I'll be watching it in November, a little after Halloween.
Singirporian women and southeast Asian are very beautiful. She still looks just as gorgeous as age 66 🤣😂✌️❤️
100% agree! And I googled her just a bit ago and can't believe how great she still looks. 😍 Some people just have some amazing genes!
Hey please watch the 2008 film bro i think its the best film in the franchise
Will definitely be watching it :) It's so crazy how long Stallone did these kinds of action films. One of a kind movie star!
I told you that you would like this movie. You will like Rambo (2008) even more. Promise.
I loved it man!!! It was everything I wanted and more lol! I'm excited to see the rest of the series and looking forward to Rambo 2008 :)
2:45 Yeahhhhh, thats called 'Downs Syndrome' bro.
Predator?
Very soon :) I'm thinking November after I've done some Halloween/horror films.
All of these movies are good. The third one is probably the weakest and silliest one out of 5 movies.
I'm pumped to watch the rest of the series! People have been telling me that part 4 gets insanely violent and gory. HELL YEAH!
