- Love it or hate, just eat it. It's good for you ;)
once you've peeled and cut the ampalaya, it's important to soak it completely in lukewarm salted water. 5 mins works, but will still be bitter, for the best result and to try appease all tastes, go for 3 hours or overnight.
Ginisang Ampalaya at Itlog
(Stir Fried Bitter Gourd with Egg)
1 bitter gourd, cut and soaked
1/2 red onion sliced
2 cloves of garlic minced
2 eggs
10 cherry tomatoes sliced in two
1 tbsp olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
1. cook all the ingredients except for the ampalaya and eggs for 5 mins on medium heat. Make.
2. toss in the patted dry ampalaya, fry for 5mins. When the Ampalaya is in the pan for about 5mins, don't touch it, let it cook and let the steam come out ; that will help remove additional bitterness.
3. scramble the eggs and toss them in for a minute. Toss tougher.

Bahay kubo🎶🎶 hahaha so cute!!!😍😘😘
I love how my dad cooks Ampalaya. He's putting corned beef and eggs and konting sabaw. I'm not eating ampalaya because of it's bitterness but when it is cooked by my dad, I found myself eating a lot of it.
I grew up eating ampalaya but in a different dish. Just simply sauteed onion, garlic and pork, then add the ampalaya, vinegar, pepper and salt. Superb 👍👍
kaya tumaba na c Mrs. Heussaff😉😘😘magaling magluto c Mr. Heussaff👏👏👏
I really admire you for going to the wet market to buy ampalaya, i mean you can always go the super market to buy one, but you still chose to buy it from the market. 👏👏👏
markets are the best!
Marinel C. because most of the famous artists in Philippines has a house helpers (maids) to shop for them or others prefer going on market themselves but they don’t go on wet market they always go on supermarket or grocery store
Mas cheap Ang price sa market
Like brother like sister 😊
I like the little history of the bitter melon. I have not eaten this fruit. I’ll give it a shot😀
Nakakatuwa pag nagtatagalog ka sa palengke...
☺😊😀
Nice One Idol
My wife and I like to cook ampalaya with atay ng manok instead of chicken and it tastes sooo good. with lots of egg and tomato and oyster sauce. Sarap talaga! It was just an experiment but turned out to be a crowd favorite and household staple haha
Haha 😂 so funny when you sing bahay kubo hahah and nice 👍 video
This is very vry helpful for me as I am diabetic and I hate amapalaya because of the bitter taste! I will def try this! Thank you, Erwan!

Dear Erwan..pls do not stop yet sharinf easy and healthy recipe...i love u.
(I hope you understand what i'm saying here) 😅
My mom usually buy and make ampalaya and shes not putting any other ingredients after nya hiwain nilalagyan nya nang asin tapos babad for 5 minutes and then after that shes putting vinegar, and ajinomoto shes not cooking it. The more bitter the more nutrients you get. Love it. Just followed you're youtube channel today it's nice knowing someone, like you na may knowlegde po sa lahat nang bagay baka ma influence po akong mag vlog🤣🤣 Thumbs up. Goodluck and Godbless

Yummers.
One of my fave to cook and eat as well.. Fast and easy ☺
Masarap at masustansya yummy thanks for sharing your new friend here.
Hi kuya Erwan ma try ngang lutuin to..thanks po sa pag share ng knowledge mo about cooking. 😄😄💛💜💙
This ampalaya is not bitter cause its better. Love this. ❤
I cook it exactly the way you did except that I overcook it so it's really wilted as it helps remove the bitterness a bit and so that the tomatoes would have also incorporated its juice into the dish.
My biggest pet peeve when eating vegetable dishes is when I find pieces of pork with skin. I'm just not a believer of the saying "mas masarap pag may konting taba." So what I do personally when I cook is either I don't put pork at all or just to satisy other people in the house, I chicharon the pork bits and put it as topping only before serving. This really enhances the flavor.
Boy oh boy it's one of my fave... I do like that kinds of food.. bitter, stick, ergh yerk "good" food like this fruit, papaya leaf, petai, etc do they tasty :))
I like it better in a salad! Perfect for fried dishes!! 👌
Ito ang niluto ko sa dinner namin last night with pork lang yun they all loved it pati si boyfie...😊 good job erwan keep it up! #fan
Love this vid and the way you sa "ginisang ampalaya at itlog" .
Suddenly I miss ampalaya. My sister knows how to cook ampalaya like a pro
I love ampalaya.
Want to cook it right now because of your vlog
Ampalaya lovers. Thanks for the tips.
hi pogi you can cook the leaves too with kamote. bawang sibuyas the dahon kamote tas tubig. best serve hot with fried fish! sarap pag tag ulan!!
Sakto! Ito yung ulam namin ngayon HAHAHA
A tip i also learned from Kitz Clutszina (a filipino cooking channel) is when cooking ampalaya don't mix it so it won't release its bitter taste, just cover the pan until it cooks. I guess it work cause he fed it to his toddler and liked it. Haven't tried it myself though
Angela Abada tnry ko nasunog yung sa ilalim huhu.
Nakalimutan ang magic sarap 😂😂😂
My grandma taught my mom to SMILE and BE HAPPY when cooking Parya to avoid bitterness 😁
There was more egg than ampalaya on that fork. As a bitter person myself, i feel hurt for the ampalaya. But then again, thank you for featuring on of my favorite breakfast ulam. 😋
I was singing the bahay kubo song while watching this and realized that there's no ampalaya hahaha oh well.. i'd still love to try this. haven't really had the guts to eat this yet. never too late. thanks for the tip, erwan!
My father also adds tofu and chicharon in his recipe and it makes a big difference (makes it taste better and adds diff texture). Love your bahay kubo series 😊
Waited friday to watch this because of busy sched. it's now past 3am and im craving for this dish! Aargg you Erwan! Hahaha
ampalayaaa my favvv gonna cook it later for lunch 🤤
having my mom always have a batch of this at breakfast helped me "pace" myself on my first meal after awakening from sleep. The harsh extreme of taste made me scoop more neutral rice, filling me up and giving my palate a chance to mellow down. I'm sure if I was raised with breakfast sausages and pancake syrup, or fried cheese and bacon with no rice filler between each next bite, I'd have taken in more salt just to feel that satisfaction, this was a neat little health hack I guess she had naturally devised within my fat kid diet routine. I appreciate it much more now in adulthood. Well done food channel reviewing stuff with UA-camr editing polish.
Always hated ampalaya, but the way you make it looks hella tasty
I'd never heard of ampalaya before, but my local grocery store is now selling it, so I thought I'd give it a try. Looking forward to trying out your recipe! Thanks for the video!
Hi Erwan that's my favorite! Slicing it thinner also reduced bitterness . 😊
That intro. Ahhaha but I really love ampalaya. Specially ensaldang ampalaya
Thanks for this video erwan. Nakakahiya ako bilang pinoy. Dahil sa video na to nalaman Kong ang ampalaya pala ay prutas at Hindi gulay. Salamat dahil may puso kang pilipino.
Hahahahahaha the comment of the week though!!! Hahahaha Erwan you’re funny! 😂😂😂😂
Ampalaya, my favorite veggie here in America. I have to go to Specialty Markets though to buy it. Your recipe is exactly how I was taught to cook it when I used to live in the Phil.
OMG. I need more of this "bahay kubo" episode! 😍😊
ps. the comment of the week is... 😂
the best dish of filipino, i love ampalaya!
Seriously I want to love ampalaya and be able to appreciate it.. Its never too late
I am just learning to cook and this was so simple and easy. Will try it for sure. I love ampalaya!
My favorite😍. What I usually do to lessen its bitterness is that, I slice it by the grove or lenghtwise (not the usual or crosswise) and stir fry it with carrots and okra (of course with the usual "ginisa" trio of tomatoes, onion and garlic). 🤔☺
Kudos
Completos rekados
Smiled like a kid at the start of the video 😄 I love the goofiness po 🎶❤

It's one of my favorite vegetable dishes and I've been cooking it whenever I feel the urge to satisfy my appetite. I never tire eating this during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some kind of side dish for me that goes well with paksiw and fried fish. Thanks for featuring this dish.
