Good Video Daryl! You are pretty spot on with the differences. We offer a 2-year warranty with our 3 R’s guarantee - We will Repair, Replace, or Refund your purchase with our money-back guarantee, while our direct counterparts offer a 1-year limited warranty. Outside of our customer service, we also offer faster shipping on select products and much more!
I will also add we do have our own warehouse stock now here in North Carolina and we plan to transition to only selling our own stock instead of shipping out the factory. Also coming to Amazon soon!
Great video! I ordered all my products from Both Lighting directly and could not be happier!! When I had an issue with a light, they sent me replacement parts, repair instructions and I was able to fix at home.
@@DJDarylBennettI just got (2) Aura 1915 free from Rick Webb during the Black Friday giveaway. I just found the needed generic program on myDMXgo and I am looking forward to using them this weekend.
Great video Daryl! Before Rick was a distributor, I ordered 10 moving heads direct from Both Lighting. Apparently during shipping something shifted and one of my road cases (and 1 fixture) arrived damaged. After a year & a half, and sending pictures to 3 different people and tons of messages back & forth, I still have a damaged road case, (bent lid & a hole in the side of the case) and a fixture I repaired my self. My next big purchase will be through Both Lighting USA for this reason.
I am very cheap and always look for deals, but I can tell you it’s 100 percent worth buying through Rick and Marcellus at Both Lighting USA. Yes, the price is probably 10-15% higher, but if the lights break, they will immediately help you with repair/replacement no questions asked. If you buy direct from China your only options are fix the light yourself (good luck) or throw the light away and buy again. Both USA often have coupons (like NYE 20%) that bring the prices down even further. IMO it’s better to have piece of mind and customer service over saving 10-15%.
8 IR-4s with soft bags are $691 on djnowlighting and $1160 on bothlightingusa. That's a 40.44% discount. I would gladly pay 10-15% more for a US based warehouse and support, but not 40%. Also, Both Lighting USA didn't have every option in stock. I was forced to buy from the direct supplier, since the tubes were out of stock in 4 units with the soft bag. The price difference on these is less, with the djnowlighting price of $840.50 and Both Lighting USA price of $1160. Still considerable at $320. I ordered the IR-4 8-pack and 360 Tube 4-pack on 12/20/23 (US time) / 12/21/23 (China time), and knowing the 10-14 day ship time, I wasn't expecting to have them in time for my NYE party. However, they promptly shipped on 12/23/23 (US time) / 12/22/23 (China time) and arrived on 12/29/23. I was very impressed with how fast they shipped from China. When I opened them, one screen was broken and one DMX received was losing connection in slave mode. Reaching out to the supplier, they told me they would send me a replacement screen and want to trouble shoot the mainboard on the one that's having connection issues. I've replaced plenty of parts on products in the past, so this is no issue to me, but I don't want to be messing with new products that are broken under warranty. We will see if the $788.50 (34%) savings is worth it in the long run.
@@Dasbeerbootsdid you message Rick about the pricing? Normally if you email them they will work with you. I have bought 8ir4’s from them before in the $800 range. If you want to be fixing lights more power to you; I would rather have a professional fix my lights for free with free round trip shipping for the twice the warranty duration.
Great video! I got caught between BOTH😂 and didn’t get what happened! Once I figured it out I felt like saving money was more important but one of Rick’s folks did reach out when a power brick went bad and resolved did issue very quickly!
Haha nice intro! That was catchy I mention the differences in my both lighting review as well. I have purchased from both Direct and USA and have had great experiences from both of them.
Just a correction - direct has many reps that are on Facebook and respond to messages quickly. I think the main benefit to USA is that you've got a much more tight warranty with repair work being done stateside. If you don't worry about repairs/warranties then it's moot. I personally work with a rep directly because that's my preferred method. I've been able to work with the rep, but also provide feedback to QC and engineering, which they've responded to as well. It's been a wonderful experience.
I think I stated that direct is better at getting back to me, at least better than other companies overseas. Personally I’ve noticed that they respond mostly when it’s business hours in china and it can take 72 hours to get a response. Which to be fair, can be the case with US reps too. I requested a quote from one US company 10 days ago and just yesterday they followed up
@@DJDarylBennett I've had a similar experience. I just learned what times are best to reach out. Then again, I've worked with a number of China based companies in the past (used to be heavy into fpv drones and would test new products for various manufacturers). I think many prefer to work with Rick purely on the language barrier alone, though messaging has improved on that front dramatically (auto-translate).
No Rick Webb in UK but direct purchase from China was brilliant. Delivery within 7 days (were they in stock in Europe?!). They were delivered by DHL and I paid a very small amount of duty to them with no paperwork. I bought the charging flight case so they were well packaged and everything has worked perfectly. The both lighting app and IR remote both work well. The IR remote has a ‘slave’ button so you can set 7 lights instantly and the 8th light to master in no more than 30 seconds. The colour change isn’t as smooth as DMX but reasonable. My biggest worry is lights being stolen but I keep an eye on the beams during the event and set them all to white at the end and make them the first thing I pick up and bring to the disco area for packing. Brightness is excellent and I have had no problem with range. Easily my best lighting package of all time.
I purchased 4 360 tubes and 8 IR-4s. The IR-4s are great, but two of the 360 tubes arrived broken. One of the LED screens was shattered and the other one drops connection in slave mode constantly. The responses to my inquiries have been within about a day, but they want me to replace the parts myself. I think a product should be in perfect working order out of the box, and that if there is an issue, they should accept an exchange. I understand with shipping costs, it's not profitable to accept a return, but I don't want to create possible issues down the road if I do something wrong.
On this topic: With US! You have the option to repair it yourself and we can give you a return label to ship directly to us and we will do the repair for you or replace your product if it's just too damaged. With us having local stock once you provide proof of dropping off at the shipper we usually ship you out a new replacement!
@@BothLightingUSA Hey, I initially was going to buy from you, but as the video stated, the cost was more than double. If it was $30 to $60, no problem, but we're talking about $1000 here. I have no problem replacing defective items myself. I'm fairly handy. I just don't like replacing parts on brand new items made in China that may or may not have additional problems in the future, likely just outside of warranty.
Depending on the light that could potentially happen with ordering from Both Lighting USA, not all lights are available at a US warehouse. But that sucks, glad you got your lights though!
It cannot. Why would they spend resources on a customer of another business. Two separate companies selling you the same product. It’s like buying a speaker from idjnow and expecting nlfxpro to fix your speakers because they sell them too.
If you need to exercise your warranty, contact both lighting direct and they'll help you out. You might be able to buy a new single light from both lighting USA if you need it quick
We only honor our Customers under warranty but that does not mean we are going to leave you in the dark if you need anything feel free to reach out to us!
Direct offers pretty good customer service for being Chinese based, but there's only so much they can do compared to a US based customer service. If that's important to you, then I think you made the right choice!
Thanks for sharing your experience! Sorry that the wireless went out! What sucks with the IR4 is there's no dmx in port, so you do have to replace or repair
