Yeah, i usually abuse of this against the gauls germans and celts by trying to get behind them with 3-4 units of cavarly and try to get their general, a pretty kamikaze strategy a lot of the time but they start routing significantly earlier so its worth replenishing 2 or 3 cavarly units each battle instead of retraining all the units that lost men
Thanks for the test! I will however ask for a rematch because I meant gold/gold Principes, not Silver/Silver. Gold/Gold Principes cost 880 gold, Legionaries with 1 armor upgrarde cost 860. In that case Principes will win. The point I was making about the Legionaries is that their upgrades are too expensive for what you're getting.
@@qualityoldgames7721 thank uuuu! I also suggest you do the same in your test against Axemen: let Axemen come gold-gold and test them against Legionaries of the same price (with upgrades).
@@sarmatiancougar7556 It seems a part of my original answer is missing. So it seems that it becomes a test of upgrade quality / cost effectiveness between units of different price categories :) Thanks for the comment.
I would like to recommend a cost for cost match for BI between Dromedarii and Sarmatian Auxilia, say 4 Sarmatians vs 6 Dromedarii, with one match of micro off, as in the units just get ordered to attack and nothing else, and micro on, as in the units try to flank the other.
I miss Old Day Total War when Elite Infantry feel so Elite. While Nowadays TTW Warhammer Elite Infantry likely to get decimate by Magic Artillery and Single Entity
Its lore Accurate though.. for single entities decimating Elite Infantries. Gods do exist in Warhammer franchies, they love to " buff" their champions/heroes with ward saves and whatnot. If single entities montser bother you just send halberd infantry, even the cheapest one will hurt them large units😊
Dude, its the regular legionary cohort with lorica segmentata armour and superior melee attack. Principes would struggle even with upgraded armour. Perhpas test Early Legionary cohort vs principes someday? Technically they got same armour😂
Thanks for the elaboration. I have tested them somewhat. Unfortunately, I'm not able to link the vids atm but if you want, you can search from the channel "Numidian Legionaries" or "Armenian Legionaries". :)
Really shows how important morale is

Agreed. Overall, it seems that in Rome quality beats quantity :) Thanks for the comment.

So basically that would . I will add that to To-Do list. Thanks for the comment :)

That was closer then I thought it would be
Agreed on that. Those 3vs2s were clear enough though. Thanks for the comment :)

Turns out, strange as it may seem: a large city post marian unit is better than a minor city pre marian unit.
Thanks for the comment. Imo about the same costs, the units seemed relatively even. But it seems that overall quality beats quantity in Rome :)

Thanks for the comment. Yea, I guess that is the case at least with some units :)
Light lancer plus 1 armor plus 1 attack vs greek cavalry (could try on 4 or 2 deep rank)
Thanks for the comment. I will add that to To-Do list :)

@qualityoldgames7721 yah, Well we know the silver legionary are the best, but what about others)))

Seems to be the case :) Thanks for the comment.
