Hello, as always a very good job! Just a tip for Demul For anyone interested, NVRAM files (Flycast and Retroarch) work perfectly in Demul, just rename the file extensions correctly. (.nvmem to .sram) with size 128KB (.nvmem2 to .flash) with size 64KB 😉
I can remap controls for TP and provide xml files for LB integration but that is all I'm touching lol. TP is great but it's still difficult to keep it maintained.

Thank you for these. Question with the lightgun games, if adding a crosshair there seems to be a huge issue with where the alignment of the shot to the crossahair is. Do you know if there is a workaround for this please?
Retroarch could be switching to vertical orientation automatically. You may need to set horizontal manually and save it per game. I can't remember off the top but there may be an option that auto switches to vertical if its on. You may have that on.
Brill! Clever man, congrats on your build it looks epic. Any idea how to convert ini cheat files to cht files? I have a bunch of ini files that will not display through Mame, finalburnneo etc. Cannot find an ini to cht converter online anywhere... Worth asking you. Thanks.
I'm not sure that is even possible as the contents and format of the ini file is most likely different . Can you edit the contents of the cht file and just copy paste what is needed? You will have to take a look and see how the codes are tagged in the cht file

It's simply that the games for systems such as the Sammy Atomiswave run appallingly upon my antiquated PC via MAME, but the games do run well under Retroarch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. @@warpedpolygon Part of the problem is that I am able to copy the files which you uploaded over to the relevant MAME folders. However, there are no such folders within Retroarch (at least not which I can see); for example, the VRAM and cgf folders

Have you checked your mouse index is lined up? Mouse positions 0 and 1 are set with this. Yours maybe different, in which case you'll have to change it
How do I access the service menu for atomiswave to adjust light gun accuracy for mouse.i have a did layout then you do but I use the pre configured files. But I need to adjust mouse accuracy since it's way off with the shader from 4k bezels

everything has been mapped to xinput and dinput controllers. the nvmem files are still usable for other builds, but again any analogue volume has been adjusted for use with a controller.
@shepardbranagh Any update on this? I'm in the same boat. Trying to get my joysticks and buttons mapped on my cabinet and it's a total pain for Naomi.
@@JeremySikora without a list of inputs or an arcade stick setup myself it's impossible to pre configure. I can do a guide on how to set these yourself but again without having one myself it's hard to show and tell
Great content as usual. all works apart from the mouse for me. the games accept the coins with the 3 and 1 button. but my mouse does not move at all. it's stuck in the middle of the screen. there must be something i am doing wrong. driver is on open gl. all config and mapping files are put in the proper place. the driving games work fine with the controller though. any possible advice as to what i'm doing wrong. I know that's like asking how long is a piece of string. :)
Cheers mate. Firstly you need to check if the .cfg files I provided are in the correct place. When you start a light gun game does it come up with a notification saying "Configuration override loaded"? If yes then it is in the correct place. Then you need to check the mouse index and adjust it if needed. But that is a bit of a procedure, lemme know if your files are in the correct place and if they are lemme know so I can give support on the LB forums
@@warpedpolygon When i load Ranger mission for example. i get the "Configuration override loaded"? notice and i get a game remap file notice in the bottom left hand corner. I run my game in 4k. does that make a difference. whats the button to get in the test menu ? Like i said. i must have some thing in the wrong place or something ticked that shouldn't be. I mean i do have other ways of getting round it if need be . cheers.
4K may be having an impact. 1st thing to check is the mouse index. Start the game and go into the main RA menu, not the quick menu. Go to settings and then Input. Go all the way down to Port 1 Controls and select it. In this menu you will see a mouse index option, select it and see if your mouse is there in the list. If not then there is a problem elsewhere. If it is there it should be in the first position. If not let me know first because if you change it via that menu if will clear the entire .cfg file. You need to adjust it in the .cfg file itself if the mouse index is in the incorrect place. You using wired or wireless mouse?
@@warpedpolygon Cool. i had a look at the port one controls/in RA/ it's set to smart mouse in the index option.. I use a wireless mouse and keyboard. when i start the an atomiswave gun game . the white mouse cross is usually top left of the screen somewhere. but as soon as i touch the mouse. the white cross snapped to the middle of the screen and stays there but i can add coins and start the game.. when i try any shooting game on Naomi. the white cross is fine and i can move it about no problem but i cannot add coins or start the game. Lol. shit happens. probably just going to delete the set up and config files for those 2 systems and reinstall those particular files. :)
EDIT - SOLVED I couldnt get this to work at all using Retroarch. I have a nonmerged set of Atomiswave roms, and although it wasnt mentioned, I located a awbios file (in fact I located a few versions) and it refuses to load. If I load through retroarch and not launchbox all I get is an error failed to load awbios. Regardless of what zipped or unzipped, 31, 33 or 43kb versions of the bios file placed in the system folder of retroarch I get nothing to load. I'm using lastest stable retroarch, 1.16 flycast. No luck at all. I have setup a bunch of emulators on LB/BB and this is only one I have trouble with. They work in standalone version of flycast without a hitch. EDIT - awbios.zip is needed for this core and contained within a folder called 'dc' within the system folder of retroarch.
You don't have to if you already have your light gun inputs setup in the main .cfg. However, inputs are not the same for every game hence the per game .cfg files. Absolutely required for 2P tho.

The gun games do not work for me also. I followed your naomi tutorial and the controls work fine there but not in sammy atomiswave. Also, when I set up naomi, the graphics were fine but after setting up atomiswave the graphics in naomi are all messed up and unplayable. I use flycast for dreamcast, naomi and atomiswave. Dreamcast looks fine.
Followed your guide and almost everything is working perfect. I have problem with the gun game 'Sega Clay Hunting'. I am using a wired mouse. But ...''Sega Clay Hunting'' is not working at all. The cursor is stuck in the middle and shoot (left button on mouse), reload (right button on mouse), credit (3 on keyboard) and start (1 on keyboard) buttons are not responding. If i open the RA menu as the game is running and go to settings/input/port 1 controls/ Mouse Index is zero (0). If i set it to one (1) and go back to game the cursor is working ok but the all the other buttons are still not working. Can you help me?
When you change the mouse index does the game allow you to use the 2nd Player Start button? If so then it's just the mouse index setting incorrectly. If not let me know and I'll give you a new .cfg file that may help

@@eriktratsaert7355 to fix it move your mouse and press the fire button simultaneously. This is the only way to work. After that inside game is working fine. Just at the start screen that happens.
It's not compared to the alternative lol. A full tut to do everything with nothing pre configured would be 40mins plus and you'd have to wait 74 days to unlock everything and set each individual games controls, and change languages for most games in the test menus, change the audio, fulfill all the unlock criteria by playing the game and using engineers codes, calibrate all the light gun games and set up rawinput for 2 plyers.......and it goes on. With my complicated procedure you have to do none of this.

Not sure on Batocera as I don't use it. If it uses RA in the same way as standalone then should be fine to use.

The 'Sort Saves into Content Directory 'is there for me with the newest version. You may have 'Show Advanced Options' off.

I have a bunch of fighting games where the characters don't show. Also metal Slug 6 shows up in a square on the left side of the screen.
Sounds like potential graphics backend issue. Have you tried switching to a different one like Vulkan or D3d11?

You'd need to do it per game. Access the test menu and change the coin assignments

for some reason Launchbox is not finding my roms Retroarch is working fine though I made sure the game folder is pointed to the right location also.

@Jeremy Sikora I did use warped presets and most worked great. I only had to do small tweaks for my own optimal setup.

@@COZ-1973 Try turning game focus off in the input menu maybe??? I had issues with that.

for 1P mouse light gun, do we still import the config files also or its only for 2Player configurations?

change the graphics backend to d3d11 to fix graphics issues.
