One evening Alagi visited us with one of his students and gave a concert on our terrace. What an evening, what a visit to the Gambia. Thanks to all the people who i was able to meet. So happy that the Gambia will get a chance to prosper, for freedom and less suffering.

The kelefa Ba Sane that the song originally talks about has to do with the first invasions and wars with the Fula in the regions of senegambia (currently, parts of Guinea-Bissau/Gabu, Casamance and Gambia), which are from the period 1490 to 1560 and which ended with the victory of the Mandinka, helped by the Nyantchos/Sane/Mane/Sonko/Sanha who became lords of Gabu, reigning 300 years, until the defeat of Djanke Wali in 1860s. The Gambians and Bissau-Guineans are the same people and the Djelis have always moved freely between these two regions that were part of the empire of Gabu, as you said, but that does not make the kora from Gambia. In Gambia, Senegal and Guinea-Conakri, everyone knows that kora is from Guinea-Bissau.
He didn't say the Kora was discovered first in Gambia or originated in Gambia ..he said this was the first sigting/ introduction of the Kora in Gambia.

The Kora was invented in the present territory called Guinea Bissau in the place that was called Kansala by where it located the palace of the kingdom Mandinka in the region Senegambia. Kora originally is not from Gambia.
I have done a lot of research about the mandinka people and their history. No one really knows where the Kora originated but it is known for sure its origin came from the mandinkas. Let us try to use accurate information in order to reduce confusion.🤗
Kora is originally from Mali.and kurea moussa is also Malian. But i love gambia because gambia and Mali is the same country the same people the same language and the same story
