I was heavy into EVERYTHING Pokémon. Even though I didn’t play the card game, I collected the cards religiously. I pulled a base unlimited blastoise myself. My mom ended up buying me a charizard from our local card shop. I’ve got a few hundred holo rares from back then. Still collect the old cards today. I cherish my childhood collection dearly. I was equally obsessed with the game boy games. And I have a few devices today that I have hacked to emulate on. I’m 33 and Pokémon is still life ❤ I got blue version as well for my first game!
Kind of cool seeing the Vaporeon power bouncer as the picture and i have one sitting next to me on my desk that's had a long life and travelled thousands of miles. Just got back into collecting the cards about 6 months ago and when i went into nostalgia mode from being in it from the start myself i remembered my Meowth power bouncer and always remembered seeing another one randomly throughout my life. Come to find out my dad found a Vaporeon while working 20+ years ago and it spent a lot of years riding around in his work trucks and every few years he would move everything to the new truck an i never thought about it but it was always there in a door pocket or glovebox. A few years ago I cleaned out all the trucks and even played with it bouncing it around the shop. A few months ago it clicked what it was and i looked all over for it finally finding it under one of our storage racks where i had lost it years before. Cleaned it up and now its been safe and sound on my shelf with all the other sealed product I've hoarded in a few months.
Ha ha nice that's awesome. Those power bouncers are great. A lot of my collection is stuff I've had since the beginning of the pokemon craze. Thanks for watching
Yeah it was such an amazing time that I'm sure a LOT of people are super nostalgic for this great time. Incase you haven't seen them and want more pokemon nostalgia I did 2 more videos 1 showing my pokemon collection and another about the pokemon craze. You might enjoy them :)
I did have a fair bit of the old Pokemon merch. Had a Pikiachu Gameboy Bag. Was just a big Pikachu plush you could stuff a GB into. Used to have that Togepi keyring you have there. I remember having it for years until most of it had been worn away by my keys. I might have my Pokemon gym leader badge somewhere from when I ran the card game events at the Toys R Us I worked at.
Ooo cool, hope you still have that badge. I have the pikachu bag :) I still have my squirtle keyring that was the first thing I bought with my wage from my first job that I did one summer at a car wash 😁
Wow. Now the was a great trip down memory lane. Had a ton of this stuff back in the day but sold it all a few years ago. Still got my Pokémon cards tho. God knows how much they’re worth now.
@@oddpodshow honestly I wish I did sold them too you. I sold the Pokédex, the Gameboy pokeball shooter thing and some figures in poke balls. It’s so difficult getting an accurate pricing on cards tho.
Thanks for doing a review on this book, it's given me the idea of finding a copy to gift my brother who loves pokemon. He plays the games, collects the merch and collects the cards. Right now he's set himself a goal of trying to get a card of each pokemon in the pokedex.
This was a neat flip through. Nice touch too showing off some of your collection. My sister was really into Pokemon. And much like you, I don't think she was into the cards. Just the show and the video games. I was a casual fan, but much more so a Digimon person. And also Monster Rancher....if that counts.
Yeah definitely, if you haven't seen it yet I did a video all about the pokemon craze and one showing my collection. Check them out and let me know what you thought, thanks for watching 😁
I'm currently trying to re-buy as much of the Pokemon stuff I had as a kid (mostly fiirst gen/pokemania stuff) that I can reasonably afford. It's getting expensive with buying that Master Trainer board game, an N64 with games, and a CRT tv. but it'll be worth it to never get rid of this stuff like i did in the past and revel in the nostalgia. There is some stuff I did hold onto: a Gengar pillow from 2000, my old game boy and GBC games, my old cards, and a Topps tin (wish I had the topps cards still), as well as a few other things. I also went to the Pokemon Live stage show. don't remember anything about it, other than just a general vibe and vague/muddied recollection of the show itself. The show is on youtube, but I consider myself lucky to have seen it live.

Feeling very nostalgic for this era at the moment. Been going absolutely crazy collecting all the cards I didn’t have as a kid

Don't think it's too hard to find so I hope you can get home one, it's a nice thing to look through. Thanks for watching :)

I loved digimon too and I loooove monster rancher, it's one of my favourite ps1 games and I loved the anime.
@@oddpodshow I'm not sure I knew it was a game. I just liked the anime and the little figures.
@@GalacticHappyHour nice, I got the recent kaiju monster rancher game on switch. Its great
