    The guy rocks on a budget guitar that sounds great, while the comments ooze with bitchin' and moanin' about this and that... I'd always choose to rock the house with a cheap stinker than dream of a '58 standard on my wall!

    I bought the JS400, had same black finger issue, but very happy with the Guitar, stock pickups are pretty good for a budget guitar, but I replaced with IronGear, I have quite an old Tokai LP, which isn't cheap! but this looks like a good alternative for someone wanting this style of guitar, also consider the Sire, I have one of their acoustics.

    "Dirty/grimy fingers" fingers are usually more a result of fret polish residue than a dirty fretboard itself. The guitar looks amazing and enormous value for the proce point! Thanks for such a detailed and well thought out video!

    • @D14V0R05
      @D14V0R05 Рік тому

      Yeah that or dye residue. It is not uncommon for the cheap brands to apply a tint/dye to the fretboard wood to make it look darker like rosewood.

    • @OddTimeMan

      @@D14V0R05 Rosewood and ebony wood often contains lighter-colored streaks in it, so guitar makers will dye them to make them consistent. The wood boards with no streaks are harder to come by...and more expensive...so even many expensive guitars have dyed fretboards.

      @@OddTimeMan Hmm yeah, apparently it is hard to get the good ol' pure dark ebony anymore and most of the trees cut nowadays have those lighter streaks on it. Either way those should be cleaned properly after being dyed.

    Hi Sacha ! So funny I was searching on UA-cam to see if there was any video about this JL-500 and I see you just posted aha. Very nice review, nice edits and playing as well ! I really like the look of this gold Les Paul. The neck do seem very comfortable indeed, loving the headstock as well. Am quite blown away by the JS300 so I can imagine this Les Paul should be really great. Enjoyed the cleans a lot here ! Nice finding your channel, cheers from France ! ;)

    Weird about the black finger issue. My JS400 was fine out of the box. Maybe it was a weird batch or something. Anywho, these guitars are excellent for the money.

    I'm tempted by it. At almost 450 bucks, I would say this is more in competition with Vintage Guitars (UK) than with Harley Benton, unless you get a Gotoh or EMG edition from Harley Benton. Personally, I would say Vintage offer some of the best affordable workhorses on the market, so it's stiff competition, even if a lot of people are still sleeping on that brand. But I really like the particular hue of gold on this Jet, so I'd love to see how it measures up to my Vintage...

    Just discovered Jet. Seems nice for the price.
    This guitar looks like the Eko Les Pauls (color and the cutaway) but with mahogany and better fretwork. Hence the price.
    Seems like a lot of these newer brands have a lot more quality to it.
    Bridge looks exactly as rough as the Eko though (VL480 goldtop vintage)
    Budget guitar players are spoiled with what is available these days. Since Epiphone get more expensive these fills a gap.

    I like it, except for the headstock shape, I find it boring and I think it makes the guitar look cheap. Then, about the price, isn't it too high for a budget brand, considering it does not have any bells and whistles (locking tuners, stainless steel frets, roasted neck, branded pickups or bridge...)? You have good Gretches or Epiphones in that price range with similar specs. I think it's Jet's most expensive guitar, so that price tag needs some explanation.

    • @MrLoompi
      @MrLoompi 2 роки тому

      Epiphone Goldtop standard is 150€ more and it does not have any extra bells and whistles.
      Also no explanation :)

    • @cinnamongirl8158
      @cinnamongirl8158 2 роки тому +1

      @@MrLoompi Yeah, but Epiphone or Schecter or Gretsch are not the direct competition of Jet. Jet still has not a name, so by now it's just another budget brand, competing with Harley Benton, Eart or Sire. And, with those brands, for 400-500€ (and even less) you get SS frets, locking tuners, Gotoh parts, Graphtech nuts, roasted necks, even EMG pickups in some of them... So, well, I don't think many people is going to buy a 450€ guitar by an unknown brand which does not offer anything close to its competition. Surely I won't buy it, after having bought a JS400 and it resulted being just another budget guitar, with a decent neck but crap tuners, high frets and terrible pickups.

    • @MrLoompi
      @MrLoompi 2 роки тому

      @@cinnamongirl8158 And "Eart" is a known brand lol. JET you can at least buy via reputable shops and dealers, not on Amazon. You can buy Eart, more JET for us :)

      @cinnamongirl8158 2 роки тому

      @@MrLoompi no, Eart is another unknown buget brand, just like Jet, that's precisely my point. But Eart, for that price, has impressive specs. The same than some other Jet models in that price range. It's this specific model which I find no reason for it to be so expensive.
