      Yes, from all accounts it seems John wrote that when he was 15, And before he met Paul, Or at least around the time he did.

      Yeah it's John's. In his Rolling Stone interview of 1970 he cited 'One After 909' as an example of a song he wrote separately from Paul even in the early days of the Beatles.

    I love your desire to see this music carried through generation after generation. It's just special. And all you have to do is listen to it. For those of us that were there during that time with all that music just not the Beatles coming out we experienced it without knowing what it was going to be. Linda McCartney said that when she shot pictures of people at the forum that she had no idea they were going to be legends. So none of us knew at that time what we were experiencing. You know even myself who did experience it yes I had my CDs in my car when I was going through building my career and then my business. It was all in the background of my life. But since I retired it's been a pure joy to witness new generations discovering this time. And it's been appear joy watching you discover it. Thank you thank you for all your hard work. And your ear. You have a real good ear. Not everyone does. They can love the music but they don't have the ear to pick up everything that's going on. So bless you young man. I support you in Patreon because I appreciate the work that you're doing.

    It’s really a crime that the rooftop video included almost no shots of Billy Preston. Probably because he wasn’t a Beatle, but he deserved more coverage. His keyboards were instrumental in creating the sound. Especially in get back and don’t let me down.

    No buddy, Paul's Bass in this film was his Hofner. It didn't have as deep as a sound as his later Rickenbacker 4001S. The rick was also easier to keep in tune. Hofners are notorious with intonation issues, but I guess Paul got used to it. He plays the Hofner most of the time today, but he had his instruments overhauled by Hofner which solved a lot of tuning issues. Paul like the hofner because 1) it didn't look like a left hand bass, 2) it was a short neck bass and 3) it was light as it was a hollow body bass.

    The Beatles were incredibly lucky to have George Martin as their producer. None of them could read or write conventional music notation. They wrote the lyrics and the names of the chords on a piece of paper. Martin was classically trained and had an almost phenomenal ability to figure out what musical instrument played the sounds they could hear in their heads. He'd then write the part and hire someone to play it on the record. He combined his classical and technical experience with the Beatles‟ creativity and helped create music that defied conventions and awed listeners.

    • @KenHunter-lt8wm
      @KenHunter-lt8wm 23 дні тому +1

      Most of that generation of rock musicians could not read or write music - none of the Stones, not Dylan, not the Who, not Jimi. Doesn't mean they didn't have expansive musical knowledge about keys, chord progressions, etc. But yes George Martin was important to translate their ideas for classically trained musicians and in the studio.

    You should do the second Get Back on the rooftop. It shows when the cops make Mal Evens turn off the amps, and George reaches to the back and turns them back on. When they are off, all you hear is Ringo's drums, and Paul and his bass. Then Paul improvised on the lyrics, having to do with the cops. Really is a must see. Also, Paul plays a Hofner bass. Paul kept that company going all these years because many people bought a Hofner because that's what Paul plays. He still plays the same Hofner in his concerts.

    Michael Lindsay-Hogg didn't know how to film musicians properly. During George's guitar solos, he barely showed him, and then he didn't show George's hands. He seldom focused on Ringo or Billy Preston, either. I think the band would have said something about that if they'd realized it at the time.

    Little Richard, Fats Domino, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, and Marty Robbins were the best (only) song writers of the 50's rock and roll genre. In the 60's it was the Beach Boys until The Beatles knocked everyone off the stage. Within a year of "Meet The Beatles", they were world wide, then they came to America and went on the Ed Sullivan Show.
    Beatlemania was a phenomenon. They redesigned the world and caused the fall of the Berlin Wall.
