Wow that's some haul. My dad is also a big John Grisham fan, he's read a good majority of his books. I recently found the first two Percy Jackson books for 2 dollars. It's a series I was curious about so I might do that one next. I also have Alphabet Squadron on my to be read list. I remember you saying it wasn't your cup of tea, but when you described it, it sounded right up my alley.
Seems like you’re a young man with lots of book collecting time ahead of you. A couple words of advice…. Never worry about buying too many books, the regrets of books you didn’t buy are always greater than the ones you did - and only get rid of books after putting a lot of thought into it - I have many regrets about books I sold and donated over the years without considering what future me might think about it and what I would like to eventually reread. Also, don’t worry about space, box up your overflow and someday you’ll have the room for them all (maybe - my basement boxes of books would argue this point, lol). Finally, whenever you do decide you have to box up books for storage, ALWAYS use proper Bankers Box boxes - like the official brand name ones, not the discount Staples or Walmart ones - get the right ones and they will last and protect your books for a lifetime, while the knockoffs will not hold up to anything but the bare minimum of stacking. Keep on book hauling!!
you are still in rookie numbers :P I've got around 3750 novels in one division, 7 billys from IKEA - oh and I only read around 1400 lol :) good purchases btw. Wish I could have here in portugal a store like mckay.
Being a big manga/comic reader you have no idea how big my smile was when you pulled out OP (my favorite series). If nobody has told you, give it to volume 10. Not that the beginning is boring, but by the Arlong Park arc you’ll know if you want to stick with it or not. FMA is also a great read, and the anime was what got me into anime/manga. Excited to hear your thoughts
My reading taste is very different from yours but I still enjoy your videos. Something about your enthusiasm and cadence makes your content very engaging.
Ah, I see Jonathan's got a sense of humor lol. Also, great haul! I remember one UA-camr, who is a fan of Shadows of the Empire, mentioning they owned or read the junior novelization, so I've heard about it but haven't read it. If I can get a copy, I'd love to read it one day.
A fellow mckays fan. I hit up the one in nashville often. Youre going to have a blast reading the firm. Watch the movie with Tom Cruise after, its a fairly good adaptation and stays fairly true to the book.
I finally got around to curing my book buying habit, but not until I bought almost everything I wanted and overflowed my bookcases and filled up countless boxes and still have more stacks of books that have not been put in boxes yet. I agree on that Bishop's Heir book, it is my favorite fantasy book cover. I would be interested to see what you think of that Stackpole series because I bought those last year after I read some of his X-Wing books. I have the Titan series and the Gateway series in my collection and most of the Grisham titles.
Thanks! That was a good haul! I would like to ask you if you can make a video about how to start/have a good reading habit. I usually read for learning but not for pleasure.
Oh heck yeah. New Rebellion is a book I really love. You don’t hear a lot about it, it falls in the same camp as Scourge and Shadow Games in that it’s just a book you never really hear a lot about. But I really love New Rebellion. I can’t wait to see your thoughts on it!
I remember seeing those “The Firm” covers all the time when I worked in a used bookstore during college. It’s been a while but I think I liked Sword of Damocles but I didn’t not enjoy Over a Torrent Sea. Hopefully both will work for you though
I *LOVE* that you can share your passion for Grisham with your father! 🤩💜💯 My Dad loved author, Dick Francis and his horse racing mystery novels, so I used to buy him those all the time! BTW, The "Shadows of the Empire" also had an *AWESOME* trading card set done by The Brothers Hildebrandt!❤❤🥲🥲 The Elfhome series by Wen Spencer is really fun!
Great haul. I don't think Grisham can write a bad book even when it's not a legal thriller. Also, didn't know Shadows of the Empire was such a big deal - I knew about middle grade adaptation because that was the first one I read, before I got older and found out there were also adult SW novels, and another version of it. Interesting.
I was thinking: Do you enjoy the experience when reading so many books? I mean, I read way slower than you, but I also enjoy the books, not just the human relationships, but also the mystry, the action, the development of the story, and so on. I can imagine you forget a lot when you read so fast and so much? Maybe read slower and fewer, but enjoy them more? What are your thoughts about that? :-)
I don’t really know. I had more freedom to binge a series I’m loving when I didn’t do reviews, but now that it’s a part of my profession, I spread things out more. I’m never a details reader. I really like big picture storytelling so even if it was just for fun I wouldn’t retain that much anyway. I’m here for the general story and characters and general feel.
I just can't get over how horrendously you've stacked those books. You've got Ikea Billy bookcases so just get some extra shelves and set those books the right way up. :D Fun video though.
I have read them. They are enjoyable, but not near worth the price point. I can read each one in less than 1 hour and they cost like $16 a piece. If they compile them all together when the series is over and make that worth like $30, maybe it’ll be worth the price then.
Weird moment when that alternate Green Rider cover did not appear. Anyways. I read the first book.and while it was not awesome, it did exceed my expectations, which is always a good feeling.

Exited to see you branch out into reading some manga. Hope you like it!

@@Murcatto-hu1ym I actually get all my bookshelves from Walmart, unless they’re gifted to me.
@@jonathankoan Ah ok. They do have the same system as the Ikea bookcases, so it should be easy to fit in more shelves. :)
Have you read The High Republic mangas? If so, what do you think of them?

Was there supposed to be an on-screen graphic when you held out your hand and said 'this cover'?
@@DustySmith1 there was, I forgot to add it in editing, my apologies.
I audibly shouted "TWENTY BOOKS FOR FIFTY FIVE DOLLARS ?!" when you said it

Oops sorry.
You didn't insert an image of the bad cover. Lol
