- THE ANNUNCIATION
God doesn’t shout over the chaos. Just as Mary’s “yes” was born in the silence of her heart, so too does your ability to say “yes” to God depend on your interior life. Without solitude-without those moments of stillness where you can encounter God-you risk losing the depth of your relationship with Him. The world is full of distractions, but like Mary, you must retreat into the silence if you are to recognize God’s will in your life.
THE VISITATION
Fraternal charity isn’t a nice suggestion-it’s essential. It’s what binds us together in the body of Christ. Just as Mary strengthened Elizabeth, you are called to be that strength for those around you. Think for a moment: who in your life needs your support? Who is waiting for your visit, your encouragement, your love? Brother helped by brother is a fortress.
THE NATIVITY
In the Nativity, God made Himself small and approachable so that we could come to Him without fear. And now, in the Blessed Sacrament, He does the same. He came into this world for you, and now He waits in the Eucharist for you. Don't you see it? When you sit before the Tabernacle, you’re sitting at the manger! Don't omit the visit to the Blessed Sacrament. Go to Jesus in the Tabernacle, tell Him your worries, and you will find the same peace and joy that Mary and Joseph experienced as they gazed upon the face of God made man. Be like the shepherds, who dropped everything to be with Him.
THE PRESENTATION IN THE TEMPLE
Mary became precious in the eyes of the Creator because she made herself small, humble, obedient. She didn’t seek her own glory-she sought only to do the will of God. And this is the secret of holiness. Present yourself before God, acknowledging that without Him, you are nothing. Only then can God lift you up. Only then can you become precious in His eyes, just as Mary did. If Mary, who was chosen to bear the Savior, knew her nothingness, how much more should you? This mystery isn’t just about Jesus being presented; it’s about how you are called to present yourself before God. Present yourself to God in humility, and in doing so, you will find true greatness in His eyes.
THE FINDING OF JESUS IN THE TEMPLE
Just as Mary and Joseph might have prayed for guidance during their search, you can rely on your guardian angel to lead you, especially when you feel lost or overwhelmed. Have confidence in your guardian Angel. Treat him as a lifelong friend - that is what he is - and he will render you a thousand services in the ordinary affairs of each day. God has given you this angel to steer you, to protect you from dangers you don’t even see. Use him!
