« Après 7 albums consacrés indirectement à l'héritage culturel maternel
(origines juives de Transylvanie), j’ai conçu « Songs for the Old Man »
comme une ré-interprétation de l'exil américain de mon père parti dans
les années 50 aux Etats Unis. Un recueil de folk songs clarinettistiques
que je "chante" pour mon père, à mon père, mais aussi à tous ceux qui
passent leur vie sur la route, les nomades, les hobos, les déplacés, les
réfugiés, avec l’envie de mélanger mes influences diverses d’Europe de
l’Est à « l’americana ». YOM.

After 7 albums devoted to his maternal cultural heritage (Jewish from
Transylvania) Yom returns with a reinterpretation of the American exile
of his father in the 50s in the US. It's his review of this family
legend, a crossing of romantic America, nostalgic, dreamy but also arid
and violent. An album of folk songs « clarinettistiques » that he
« sings » for his father, and for all those who spend their lives on the
road, nomads, hobos, displaced, refugees. YOM.
