Haha we are no red-bull drinkers and live on the extreme but this one definitely is not for the faint of heart, or non-grippy shoes, and lack of climbing experience. It is quite terrifying in a few areas, but I love it!
I am an old guy now, but when I was a young father of five, I would NEVER have risked making my wife a widow and making my children fatherless on an exciting climb like this, without a professional guide and a top rope. Awesome video, which is more exciting than anything I have watched in a long time!
Back in 1978 huh - wow! This is a special place for my wife and myself now. It really pushed her comfortable levels climbing up and then sliding down the snow.
Ya, I would say 5.1-5.4. It’s hard to say for me. You could do it as a 4, but it’s realistically more of a 5.4 in some parts. That wall is huge and you get to choose your own route. Our path was closer to 5.4 although some might be a little easier at 5.1. If it looks to difficult, there are easier options nearby most of the time. And the steepest parts are near the bottom to middle sections. Higher up it changes back into class 4. Hope that helps
You Katz have STONES!! We called the end of our adventures the afterglow. Thanks for taking me back in time, about 40 years!

Nice hike with your daughter!
I have a question about your specific route. Do you have an email address I could reach out real quick?
Would you call this low class 5 or class 4 climbing?
