I love Sting...have since I was in high school in the early 80s...he absolutely rules my iPod...but his voice is completely unsuited for this type of song, in my opinion. I think he sounds his absolute best in songs like "They Dance Alone," "Fields of Gold," and "Fragile." This is just grating to my ears. Kate Winslet and Jane Eaglen did a beautiful job on this piece. Same thing for "In Darkness, Let Me Dwell." To my ears, Sting is terrible on that song. Ellen Hargis, on the other hand, is superb. Sting is inclined to pretension and here, it trips him up. Just my opinion.
Sorry but I have to disagree with you Gail! Although Sting is not used to this genre, his energy and musicianship comes through and provides an alternative interpretation of Dowlands works.
SO BEAUTIFUL!
...heavy metal rocker, rappers, rock and rollers, watch and learn!!!
Thank you Sting.
Oh good Lord! Edin's Lute and Sting's beautiful voice! Hvala Vam! Thanks you very much ❤️🙏
Adoro la collaborazione con Karamazov, splendide musiche medievali
a real renaissance artist :0 love him
Great performance and production. A way to expand this superb music to broader audiences.
Me gusta el Sting intimista, místico; no comercial... Me llega al alma..!
Absolutely wonderful
I love this voice
Weep you no more, sad fountains, a lute song by John Dowland (1563-1626).
Hypnotic? Is it his swaying on the stool that sends you into a trance? :)
Heavy smoker, too, from the sound of his breathing.
An intelligent man and a sensitive singer, though.
He isn't and wasn't- a smoker, I mean.
