Naaalala ko noong pinatay ang mga Vizconde, Malapit lang ang bahay ng best friend ko sa kanila (one street away lang from Vizconde residence) natakot kami na di na sila lumalabas pagdating ng 6pm. Pumunta kami sa bahay ni Mr. Vizconde para makiramay ang sabi namin "Sana po makamit niyo yung hustisya para sa kanila, hindi niyo man po kami kilala pero kasama kayo sa aming dasal". My late dad, Mario Z. Reyes was the founder of OSCA (Ofc of the senior citizens affair) that he initiated and started in Paranaque, then later became a republic act. This was during Mayor Joey Marquez days (Joey is a relative). My dad would always tell us that he was close to Hubert and sometimes would visit him in the jail just to hand him a pack of cigarette or a snack. Dad was a smoker. Hubert calls him Tito. One time he asked Hubert if he actually did it? He said “No Tito”. Through the years that he would see Hubert, my dad believed that he was innocent, that he was framed up because anak ng pulitiko eh. Dad would always say that he was very respectful, educated, and God fearing. My dad passed away already but i’m sure he is happy to know that his anak-anakan in the city jail is finally free. Just saying. Don’t bash me, I just wanna share. 👍🤟🏻☺️

I actually saw Hubert at Megamall a few days after mkalaya cya. I want to approach him and say something welcoming. Pero shempre, I know he's a private person, so I just raised my hand and gave a nod, which he returned the favor with the same gesture. I won't forget that. God bless the man.

Amazing interview. Raw and real talk. Congratulations Julius! Let’s not be judgemental. Hubert spent more than 15 yrs in prison and later on got acquitted by the Supreme Court. Kung sa America yan, the acquitted person turns the table by filing multi million $ lawsuit against those who put him in prison. Imagine him losing so many long years in prison. Hubert’s family is solid with their love and support of him. After all the trauma, Hubert is more focused on the NOW and let God be the center of everything in their life. Eventually, we meet Our Creator on judgement day. I pray for all.
What is stark in Hubert’s case is the enduring love of his father, Sen Webb, who saw through his son’s case… I have no judgment here as there was no real hard evidence against him; other than mere circumstances, cctvs and dna are the real deal… Hard as it maybe for others to accept: when there is even the slightest doubt, it is better to freed the accused as it would be even greater injustice to incarcerate an innocent man. If he was innocent, there was injustice as he already served time in jail for 1.5 decade whereas if he was guilty then it is how it is with our imperfect justice system; that is why we have an omniscient and just God.

It was 1991 when this tragic event happened. It broke our community. I gave birth to a baby girl, Feb, It happened June. More or less we felt we knew the truth. because we knew what's happening inside our village. And there was a father's instinct. and all the neighbour's knew the the behind story. my youngest same age as Hubert moves around the village, Freddie Webb is respected in our church. he is one of the Layman. I just pray justice will be served on earth and heaven.

Let’s not be judgemental. Hubert spent more than 15 yrs in prison and later on got acquitted by the Supreme Court.
Kung sa America yan, the acquitted person turns the table by filing multi million $ lawsuit against those who put him in prison. Imagine him losing so many long years in prison. Hubert’s family is solid with their love and support of him. After all the trauma, Hubert is more focused on the NOW and let God be the center of everything in their life. Eventually, we meet Our Creator on judgement day. I pray for all.

What is stark in Hubert’s case is the enduring love of his father, Sen Webb, who saw through his son’s case… I have no judgment here as there was no real hard evidence against him; other than mere circumstances, cctvs and dna are the real deal… Hard as it maybe for others to accept: when there is even the slightest doubt, it is better to freed the accused as it would be even greater injustice to incarcerate an innocent man. If he was innocent, there was injustice as he already served time in jail for 1.5 decade whereas if he was guilty then it is how it is with our imperfect justice system; that is why we have an omniscient and just God.
