Queenslander I’ve ridden neither but wonder what they’re like. I plan on going up the east coast here of aus. Nothing too serious, dusty tracks will probably be the most extreme. Noticed the R’s are cheaper too (2010) year or so I’m looking at. How do you find them? ✌🏽

Gee mate that was bloody quick, I can tell you the good mail for riding in Oz and its Queensland & Far North Queensland to be exact, it has a full on tropical climate with no winters (average days 26c) April - October .. Surrounded by Mountains close to the Coast (like Hawaii) with brilliant sport bike riding up the mountain ranges & unbelievable dirt-bike/Adventure riding in amazing rainforests.
Sorry mate forgot about the bike, yea 660R is pretty amazing & but the 21inch front wheel tends to make it run wide on fast sweepers so dropping the forks through the triple-clamps by 12-15mm sorts that out. Good bike (even without knobbies ) on the dirt & great for motarding up the tight ranges even with that 21, really good all rounder.
Queenslander Very cool I have a restored / modded 1982 xt550 which I know could do it but just the little things, like you said, temp up north could keep her pretty darn hot. Too damn cold down here in Vic now. Plan on a working / riding trip as far as I can get ✌🏽 🏍 Thanks for the info !
M L .. Good luck with the XT550 on the trip - Cairns obviously has a lot of tourism work for people depending on what training you have up your sleeve. Summer temp are only 32-33 but the humidity is the killer but it will virtually switch off in a couple of weeks & FNQ will have a mild cool winter.

Dit was een ritje georganiseerd via het Motor-Forum. Zo ongeveer 1x per jaar doen we eens een ritje voor wie dat leuk vind.
