Well, it`s not some fellow necromant or something. It`s kinda premordial beeing, spirit of death, who was there all the time before and only got his physical embodiment during Mushroom war. His only wish to kill every life. His only purpose to kill every life. In whole universe, in all possible universies. And all I want to say - the decission to make him "deeper" is a little bit out of character in my personal opinion.

Upon witnessing his reward not being granted for his fulfilled purpose, we could see The Litch aiming for a greater feat in the sequel of the series such as exterminating all life in the multiverse rather than just one universe to truly bring an end to all things.
There is a difference here The Lich made it his Lifetime Goal to extinguish all Life And he would try to accomplish it as long as he is able to But when he did accomplish it, what now? He still had his life and what could he do with it in a dead world? Nothing

In Adventure Time he was a Great Villain and a Great Character but he lacked any "Character", he was evil not because he wanted to or had a concrete reason but just because he worshiped Golb And he was always speaking as "The Last Scolar of Golb" or something like that In this scene tho He finally spoke for himself and got a little bit of actual character I'm not saying he was bad in Adventure Time I am just saying he gained more in Fionna and Cake
@@TitaneRam he used to be really cool and badass in the first show, some people even voted him as the best super-villain in cartoon network history. Even if he doesn't have any character, it's not really relevant because some people still enjoy him being the main antagonist by being a badass cold hearted monster with his iconic quotes. In the new show, yes they add more depth to his character by making him a simp to golb which doesn't make it better. Imo i'd rather have a chill, badass, super scary villain over a simp villain of the week.
