OTTB Schooling Over Jumps

This thoroughbred gelding is a natural jumper. This horse had a 4 year racing career and retired sound and healthy. He loves to jump and runs at them like he is on a mission. He is learning to take them a little bit easier and not rush to the jump. This beautiful OTTB is a fox hunter now and has hunted for two years. He loves jumping and may enter some upcoming local horse shows to add to his résumé.
The term "rescue" gets throw around a lot when an OTTB is retired from racing and rehomed. Unfortunately most of these horses were better off at the race track, than with the people who claimed to "rescue" them. This horse was not rescued! Many horses loved to race and do what they were bred to do. There are a lot of great thoroughbred racing trainers who retire their horses when they recognize the horse doesn't want to race anymore. This horse is still with the original trainer and rider and they love him. They retrain their retired horses and other OTTBs and find them approved homes, where they are well cared for and loved.
