Strong chop is only the beginning...

Seriously, I've been looking for videos that explained this. I have watched everything I could find. Yet, 30 seconds into watching this video it just made sense. Thanks man! I will be signing up to your website courses. You are a great teacher.

Yes, yes, yes!!! More, more, more!!!Thank you Daniel! I'm a beginner cellist and I've been looking to incorporate much more groove in my cello playing, like I do on other instruments. It's been hard to find good examples of others doing it. I'm so glad I found you! The world needs more resources like this.
Philip I’m glad to get connected! Check out Eddie’s Dream (on this channel) and follow the link to my website for sheet music and a quick chop practice page. Hope it’s helpful

Thank you! =)
Valdir glad it was helpful. What are you working on right now? What kind of skills are you looking to build? Hope I can help
Is chop bad for your strings or bow?
No. I’ve seen folks w poor technique scrape their bow or break a bow hair, but played well and without excessive force there’s zero danger/damage to the bow stick or hair
I would try this but im scared to mess up my bow...
No worries! You get to decide how much force you use. 😂 No reason to be too hard on your bow - it’s just a scrape of the hair along the strings. And it’s not as forceful as you might think. Do beginners occasionally lose a bow hair or two? Sure. :) But once you get the hang of it, there is no danger to the bow. Consider if you’ve ever dropped your bow while trying to play with a relaxed hand! Many of us have. That’s dangerous. This really isn’t. :) I hope you’ll try it!
