I have been watching reviews of this one and the one from Asmus toys. I think the one from Asmus looks a lot better. I am a child of the nineties as well and want to get one of these. That plastic hat just ruins it for me from dark toys. The hat from Asmus is felt and comes with two head sculpts. I have a chance two pick from either at the moment, think I'm gonna go with Asmus.

It you're talking about the Asmus figure, it wasn't a recast. The face wrinkles and lines, especially around the mouth and forehead is totally different. Also the unworn mask is supposed to be greener, and not as brown. And this figure is definitely better than Asmus, even though the interchangeable head for milo they did was quite nice.
This is mindblowing!! My only nitpick is I wish they did some green dry brushing over the Loki mask since it wasnt plain brown in the film! But that aside everything else looks amazing!
Wish we could have more face sculpts of the mask of from this figure, maybe we'll get more of them from the next figure release of Jim Carrey as the mask.
The issue with a Jim Carrey/Stanley Hipkiss headsculpt is that everything else would need to change. Stanley's outfit was completely different when he didn't have the mask on. It would be a bit too much work for something which would be wrong anyway. The dog and standalone mask accessories are easier to make and get away with.
This is blast of nostalgia for sure, it would be awesome if they released dx figures of normal Stanley and one of the main bad guy wearing the mask, so you could have a trio.
I think they definitely should've swapped that wooden mask with a balloon dog or a tommy gun of some sort... but still, it's an absolutely STUNNING figure.
I have never seen a 3rd party DX. The box, foam, accessories, I'd swear someone from Hot Toys is moonlighting! This is so much better than the Asmus Mask. Would you pick up the Asmus Stanley Ipkiss to pose with this one?
Just got mine. And he's awesome! Looks even better in person. And he looks awesome next to Arkham series Joker from Hot Toys. These two have the same shoes btw, haha :D

Look up the one made by "asmus toyz" its alsmost the same but has another head you can put on and comes with a normal head for the dog as well. They also got a figurine with just stanley without the mask
Hi Justin, I'm not sure where you get your information but if you say its a recasting then who am I to say otherwise. But that said if you compare this head sculpt to the "other" one the Dark Toys Version craps all over it in terms of detail, shading, paint apps etc. Its chalk and cheese so I could care less what the original source material was I just want the best figure I can get. I have this on pre order and am happy that its light years better than the "other" version. Enjoyed your review keep up the good work.
