as a Liverpool fan loved seeing him in the Red shirt but he was never given much time on the pitch so couldn't shine as brightly, seeing him play for Swansea and now new castle you can see he is so underrated has that aggression will to fight in the Defensive situations like Skrtel but also can go on the front foot and blast goals in at distance. a very good player and sad he never got the recognition as a younger player as he would of got so much further. Still hope this man keeps going. :D

He was supposed to be Lpool's new Gerrard 10+ years ago. Lpool kept Henderson instead.
Shelvey has been incredible for Swansea and Newcastle since.
Then he played well at Forest but didnt get the playing time he deserved.
Now he plays in the Turkish league, where he scored a banger from his own half.
Every club made a mistake by selling him.
What a talent, I am very sorry that such a player did not get a bigger career. What a pass, thinking and a good shoot had this man ..I think only he and Gerrard have such a leg, and such a good pass..For me, the best eight in the BPL, and the idol in the middle of the court!

Shelvey deserves England call up and he has the chance now with top quality around him. He is just what England need a Pirlo type to control the tempo/passing of the game. Hes a true artist of the game no player in England close to him at what he does. Criminal Southgate hasn't gone with him. Hopefully newcastle stay up and they push on next season so he can't be ignored!

If Kevin de bruyne was playing these passes you’d have Micah Richards and Redknapp creaming themselves saying “ITS THE WEIGHT OF PASS!”
But seriously though Kevin de bruyne is a really good player but I don’t get why the past 3 seasons passing all of a sudden has become so appreciated. You never rarely used to hear commentators praise passing as much. And probably rightfully so at times. Some passes deserve praise but it’s far to extreme now. I could easily play some passes that get praised now. This treatment was never around when players like gerrard scholes carrick were playing and players of similar time. Passing never really got took so seriously because most passes that got praised had to be special passes but Kevin de bruyne could slip someone through in a 2v1 situation and it be the best pass of all time
