Hi Beth! Thank you for sharing this awesome pattern! I’m currently making some to help donate to a hospital in Brooklyn NY. I wanted to reach out because I think I may have come up with an alternative solution to the mortarboard. I’ve doubled up the yarn, using size 5.00 mm, I chained 11, then single crocheted 10 across and made 10 rows to make a square. Now I’m following your instructions, going around, 3 in the corner and I will stop once I reach 5 inches across. It’s staying relatively stiff and holding shape. I can reach out again once I’m done and submit a picture. 🥰
I am in the process of making graduation caps for my twin grand children, you mentioned a graduation gown for the babies, can you share that pattern as well??? I would like both children to have a complete set.
I use slightly diluted Elmer’s glue (white glue). It dries clear. Let it dry flat on a piece of foil on a box, and use rust-proof pins to hold down the four corners.
Actually the glue didn’t work due to the weight of the yarn. I made two squares and cut a slightly smaller piece of craft foam to place in between. Then with a long running stitch I “sealed” the sandwich.
Thank you for the tutorial. The hat is adorable!!
Your awesome !! This is so kind of you to make these for the babies and families
I think You are great
Excellent video!! I’m making them for a NICU in Knoxville. Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you so much! I had a request for these from my local hospital and I really want to do it for them!

Can you post the written instructions please?
Is there a written pattern for this at all? I'm trying to get one made for my friend's baby, but I don't do well with audio instructions.
