I have been on compounded tirzepatide for 15 months and lost almost 40 pounds. I have Kaiser Permenente insurance and did their weight loss program for obese patients but they would not prescribe the medication. I could not keep the weight off so I used a tele-health doctor who I saw on UA-cam . I saw my doctor recently who told me I should get off of the medication but didn't offer any alternatives. My A1-C went down to 5.3 and other numbers have improved but I feel it is in response to the medication. Taking it day-by-day.
I am on compounded semaglutide. I have been on it for a month and have lost 7 lbs. My insurance company won't pay because I am pre-diabetic, not t2 (my AIC is 6) and my BMI is under 35. So, I pay $185 a month for the compound and would be paying upwards of $1000 for the name brand. My Dr. tried submitting a PA and it was still denied. Usually, my insurance company is fabulous, but they won't budge on this.
My insurance company does not cover GLP-1 medications; they are only covered for diabetes, which I do not have. I have regained most of my weight since my sleeve surgery in 2019. I have been considering using a compounding pharmacy, and I personally have no trust issues with them. I had a friend who was a compounding pharmacist, but unfortunately, he has retired and moved out of state.
Hi, I am taking a tirzepatide compound. I am thrilled with the results. Have 30 pounds to lose not diabetic. Good health, but could not lose this weight. Lost 40 pounds with dieting and exercise. And I'm stuck with the last 30, and my insurance company will not give me a dime for the medication. Therefore, I have no choice but to go the root of compounding and it is the only affordable way to get this medication.Looking forward for when the generics will be available in twenty twenty six
The drug companies are blaming the distributors and the distributors are saying that the drug companies aren't supplying them.If they shut down the compounding pharmacies, then a lot of people will switch back to named brands and start a shortage again.
I’ve lost all my excess weight (56 lb) on compounded tirzepatide because my insurance wouldn’t cover the meds for me (exclusion). I started taking it June 2023 and have been on maintenance for several months now. I pay $179/month for 5mg dose. I’m terrified at the thought I won’t be able to get my medication if compounding goes away…. No way I can afford to pay for brand name.
My renewal for my PA did not go through at first and the pharmacy told me that my price would be $1500 for wegovy. So yes some people are being charged the full price. Compounded has the capacity to meet the demand. Most people would prefer to be on the branded drug, so at $1500 or even $600, it is simply not possible for most people financially. With the shortages on the branded drugs, many people seek consistent access through compounds.
Sir you are incorrect. People DO pay the list price. Before I went compound I was paying $1200 per month for zepbound.
Does happen. Ppl on Medicare or who are federal employees cannot under current law use the manufacturer savings cards. 😢
Yeah, the speaker in this video is clearly a spokesman for the major pharmas
@@dawnkifer9712 I’m on Medicare and absolutely pay the list price which for me is around $1200
