if you're looking for a great 1080p 240Hz IPS monitor i recommend the MSI MAG251RX. very underrated, it is still a great monitor considering it came out almost 4 years ago, colors are pretty good out of the box although you still need to tweak them a bit. ghosting is close to nonexistent with the fastest response time (adaptive sync needs to be off for this to be true). all around great monitor if you can find it for $350 or something close to that.

For the $300-500 monitor range, instead of the M27QX or the MSI MAG274QRX, I think the LG 27GR83Q is the better choice due to that it has HDMI 2.1, and in the USA, can be found on sale for $350 often, instead of $500. This video makes me want to buy a gaming monitor, but it’s like a competitive gaming monitor that also excels in professional color/post production work doesn’t exist. Finding professional color/production monitors that can perform in competitive gaming is soooo difficult.
@@hailgod1 i already do, but in this case 3 monitors would be necessary. Main monitor wouldn’t be able to be a gaming monitor. Desklayout for colorists/audio engineers wouldn’t allow it.
@@VincetheEditor I don't know if this product exists but maybe look for some monitor arms that would allow you to easily swap monitor positions around. I know you can do them from horizontal to vertical stacks at the very least maybe use a couple of those.
@@videogaminbiker889 i’ve bought a lot of monitor arms in the past. I have tried both single arm, dual, and vertical. At the moment I am using a dual vertical mount and while it works really well it can cause strain on the neck if you spend a lot of time using only the top display. Monitor arms that can be moved around freely are useful but there is a limit to how much you can do due to cable management. I’ve never seen an alternative that will allow you to switch the positions of a top and bottom vertically mounted monitor before but if it did exist I can only think of issues with cables. Though if that can be solved it’d be an ideal solution
Waiting for a successor to the 27GN950/27GP950. This monitor is currently the only one on the market with 4-side bezel-less design, 4K, 27-inch, and 144Hz. Adding Mini-LED and a glossy finish to this list would make for a worthy upgrade. OLED looks fantastic, but in its current state, it’s not great for macOS users who have a largely static menu bar and dock for 9 hours of the day.
do some more setup reviews!!! I love seeing other people settups and how clean your audience is. i hope to see myself on a review one day as my setup is an outlier based on the rest of us xD.
Spent the last 3 months researching monitors for my 2 month old rig and I had some pretty strict requirements. I eventually landed on the Samsung Odyssey 49” OLED and am thrilled with every aspect including the price with all my discounts. Kicker is I’m playing primarily a 24 year old game 😂
i appreciate that you include low budget items a lot of bigger channels barely test/review cheaper stuff and i feel like a majority of players dont have a huge budget
Really interested in that just announced 360hz 1440p oled monitor from alienware. Feel like it can give that 540hz monitor a run for its money in motion clarity seeing its still an lcd tryna pump out sub 2ms frame times. 10-90% pixel response transistions are a nice benchmark to hit that they are doing but the total reponse times are far slower and that still still does matter, especially the first 10% that could very well be especially delayed.
the negative comments on reddit about viewsonic xg2431 have got me confused.. can anyone tell me is this monitor actually good compared to other monitors in it's price range?
Thank you for very good content you produce, I realy enjoy in your videos. As you said in the video, you don't shoot a lot of products that are in mid tier list of gaming. And I can't quite find myself in the products you are testing. And I think most people, myself included, would be happy if you tested something in that range. You make very good videos and cover all product parameters very well with your "toys" for testing and all that nicely put together in one 10 minute video. I learned a lot from your videos and for that I am grateful, greetings from Macedonia ❤
for me the asus 1440p 360hz is still the perfect middleground 2k is nice to have on singleplayer/casual games and the high refresh rate is perfect for cs and such would defenitely consider an upgrade if oled's get 360hz panels or we see a 540hz 1440p panel in the near future
Just purchased the Alienware AW2723DF for $600 CAD. Great monitor, older monitor but it has all the features I need for gaming and work, namely the built in KVM/USB hub.
I would've been mad at anyone else if they didn't put actual model names in description in order to force you to click affiliate or watch the video to get to know it. But, your content is too good to be skipped, I agree with you
the timing of this video coming out could not be better... my current 144hz benQ monitor recently got a dead pixel/line across the screen so I was looking to replace it by next month 🤣 thanks a lot
I bought a pair of Koorui 24E3's several months ago. They are ridiculously good for the price. Basically the same performance as an AOC i've had before that, but 2 monitors for the price of one. The only thing about them is a big white led for representing on/off/sleep. They bother me to a point where i have to turn both monitors off when I go to sleep and turn them back on in the morning
Waiting for 2K 27” 540hz OLED 😛, it would be ultramazing at 16:10 format and glossy panel for extra sharpness, but i know that not going to happen 🥲. As always very nice and interesting Video!! Thanks a lot!! 🙌🏼

You should check out the AOC Q24G2A/BK. A 24", 1440p, 165Hz, ips panel. Great monitor! For those of us that prefer the 24" size, now we finally have the higher res option as well. I'm not shure if it's available outside of the EU/Asian market tho.
Really happy with my PG27AQDM. It makes night and day difference in some games compared to IPS and it costs about the same in my country as the AOC alternative. Great video as always
@@WheeledHamster I play first person shooters exclusively and this combined with skilled player results in some of the cleanest gameplay I have ever experienced. However, it’s great for single player games nonetheless; I started playing the Baldurs Gate 3 on my old IPS and then switched to the OLED and man was I blown away by the quality and contrast difference… Also, I’m a freelance video director and for any post and color grading work it’s flawless as well, so perfect combo for my usage mix of chill gaming, tryharding and work.
I paid the silly price premium for an OLED gaming monitor, and I'm in love with how crisp and colourful it is. It's not just that blacks are inky, the whites are also beautifully vibrant. ...but for gaming I hardly notice any difference vs. a 1ms IPS panel, with the same refresh rate. The difference between the 1 ms in 0.01ms response time just isn't perceptible to me. Don't regret the purchase because I'm lucky that I could afford it, but I can't say it's a good value for gaming versus a higher refresh rate (or higher pixel density) IPS panel.
Check out the AOC Q24G2, We need more 1440p-4k 24-25 inch high refresh rate option, and no 4k is not overkill for that size, it's the max tho, there are 4k laptops and my 7 inch phone is like 2k resolution, that is what I would call pointless, but 24-25 4k is still not.
I have just purchased the LG 27GR93U-B (4k@144hz - IPS flat) very cheap. It was £550, I manage to get a lot of discount on it: £375, will I regret it? I'm not sure.
I don't really play competitive games anymore, so I prefer either a cheap 1440p IPS 165hz or a 4K OLED 144hz. Nothing really makes much sense to me between there.
i blindly clicked the link to your favorite 240 hz 1080p monitor and it took me to the same monitor i already have in my cart. feelsgood my 5 days of research have led me to enlightenment
I know your all about performance but you should really experiment with different aspect ratios, recently just got a 21:9 1440p oled and it’s a game changer
I have Viewsonic XG2431 monitor that I purchased in September 2022, but unfortunately, it broke after just 7 months. There were faint lines on the monitor, and I initiated an RMA process. ViewSonic sent me a replacement, but to my disappointment, after 5 months of use, the same issue occurred again. I reached out to them once more, and they agreed to send me yet another replacement. So, at the moment, I'm using the monitor, but I'm apprehensive about it breaking again. My research indicates that this is definitely a defect in this model. It feels like I'm using a ticking time bomb. Nonetheless, the monitor is exceptional for gaming; I just need to make some adjustments to the settings.

As early as Q1 we'll see some fresh OLED launches.

Optimum you are looking jacked brother. Keep up the good work.
27gp95rp-b is the successor right?
Same here. I really need a 4k monitor for work that can due dual duty for gaming
do some more setup reviews!!!
Kicker is I’m playing primarily a 24 year old game 😂
let me guess.. age of empires 2?

this channel is just gold❤
the video will have come out "one minute ago" and people say "love the video" watch the video first.

I wish Zowie stepped up their game. They are playing in safe it seems. Would be amazing to see some 1440p 360hz Zowie monitor...
Our review king dropping another banger 🤗
the negative comments on reddit about viewsonic xg2431 have got me confused.. can anyone tell me is this monitor actually good compared to other monitors in it's price range?
yeah i am also confused after seeing bad reviews. have you bought the monitor ?
@@TUFF-FPS yes I did buy the monitor

Amazing vid!! can you do a whole video about all your setup, I'm am mostly interested on your keyboard. Thanks in advance
Why are you not talking about that AW3423DW
He is into competitive fps games, so i think anything with a curve or not 16:9 is out of the question
Just purchased the Alienware AW2723DF for $600 CAD. Great monitor, older monitor but it has all the features I need for gaming and work, namely the built in KVM/USB hub.
Best structured and paced monitor recommendation video in a long time from anyone. Insane standard of quality and always respect you for it.
YESS THANK YOU!!! IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A MONITOR AND WATCHING ALL YOUR MONITOR VIDEOS!!!
the viewsonicc XG2431 is amazing, I've had it for two years now, and its been a smooth, flawless experience
I would've been mad at anyone else if they didn't put actual model names in description in order to force you to click affiliate or watch the video to get to know it.
But, your content is too good to be skipped, I agree with you
You haven't seen Asus ROG Strix XG259QN, it is 380 Hz monitor that allows you to use VRR and MBR combined, its dope monitor! Best on the market atm
the timing of this video coming out could not be better... my current 144hz benQ monitor recently got a dead pixel/line across the screen so I was looking to replace it by next month 🤣 thanks a lot
U are really awesome man, great reviews with no bias
Awesome video as always , thanks a lot :)
Always appreciate the content man. Thank you for doing what you do
Not quite related, but I hope you can do a video soon covering the new Ncase M1 Evo.
I bought a pair of Koorui 24E3's several months ago. They are ridiculously good for the price. Basically the same performance as an AOC i've had before that, but 2 monitors for the price of one. The only thing about them is a big white led for representing on/off/sleep. They bother me to a point where i have to turn both monitors off when I go to sleep and turn them back on in the morning
do you think it'll last for years? I just ordered mine
small piece of electrical tape should do the trick
@@stewartphillips nah. lights only bother me at night. electrical tape would bother me all the time
@@einsleyharriot1294 dont know whats on the inside, but they are built allright by my standarts
fair enough. I have a similar issue with my alienware monitor, i usually just position my chair so it blocks the light when i sleep@@ДенисКомаров-л4ч
Yo optimum, I was wondering what your gym PRs are since you used to be a powerlifter. Things like bench, squat, deadlift, shoulder press and such
Waiting for 2K 27” 540hz OLED 😛, it would be ultramazing at 16:10 format and glossy panel for extra sharpness, but i know that not going to happen 🥲. As always very nice and interesting Video!! Thanks a lot!! 🙌🏼
The KTC H27T22 is really interesting. Please review this one with the other midrange options you mentioned!
I love you n your content been in the market for couple peripherals an u always fucken change my mind n help me decide thank you for yo research n factual non biased opinion
I got an ASUS 280hz IPS 27 inch 1080p on EBAY for 200 dollars. Really good value. Really good colour accuracy too.
Thank you for the list !
You should check out the AOC Q24G2A/BK. A 24", 1440p, 165Hz, ips panel. Great monitor! For those of us that prefer the 24" size, now we finally have the higher res option as well.
I'm not shure if it's available outside of the EU/Asian market tho.
kinda high response time tho
Love this video
lookin good brother!
I have an XL2546K as my main, is it worth just selling the XL2546k and buying a new XG2431?
Thanks so much keep it up!❤❤❤
I have been looking at upgrading my setup for a while now and this made it so much easier for me!
I think monitor content is great. Thanks!
i bought the Asus Pg27AQN 360hz based on your videos And the quality on the monitor is so good. Best thing I've ever bought for my gaming setup.
Really happy with my PG27AQDM. It makes night and day difference in some games compared to IPS and it costs about the same in my country as the AOC alternative. Great video as always
As an owner, I agree, and I don't even care about first person shooters.
I also have this screen, and overall I am happy with it. But the OLED grain is pretty noticeable :(
Lmao always out of stock though
@@rummyq1507 That’s a non issue in my country as I think it’s far too expensive for most people.
@@WheeledHamster I play first person shooters exclusively and this combined with skilled player results in some of the cleanest gameplay I have ever experienced.
However, it’s great for single player games nonetheless; I started playing the Baldurs Gate 3 on my old IPS and then switched to the OLED and man was I blown away by the quality and contrast difference…
Also, I’m a freelance video director and for any post and color grading work it’s flawless as well, so perfect combo for my usage mix of chill gaming, tryharding and work.
Anticipating your reviews on the Gigabyte and MSI monitor 🤞🏻
I bought the Asus PG27AQN after your review in Feb and it's insane!
Awesome video!!! :)
Your videos are awesome man.
Would be awesome if you made some vids on larger gaming monitors. Really struggling to pick a large 16x9 monitor. Preferably around 35 inches.
bro what that kill on the tracer at 1:06 was nuts lol
The 540 hz asus isn't even for sale yet, can't find it anywhere
Happy to see I'm not the only one still enjoying OW
I have just purchased the LG 27GR93U-B (4k@144hz - IPS flat) very cheap. It was £550, I manage to get a lot of discount on it: £375, will I regret it? I'm not sure.
I don't really play competitive games anymore, so I prefer either a cheap 1440p IPS 165hz or a 4K OLED 144hz. Nothing really makes much sense to me between there.
i blindly clicked the link to your favorite 240 hz 1080p monitor and it took me to the same monitor i already have in my cart. feelsgood my 5 days of research have led me to enlightenment
amazing video dude
Just bought the 24a3 from your vid. It's amazing for the price.
You should rly look into the Samsung Odyssey G40B. 240 HZ, 1080p, good looking and fast IPS, adjustable in any direction and it's only 200€.
