Definitely remote kill switch I learned the hard way guys
A sneaky video I haven't seen !!! And a month old!!! Bonus 👍👍👍
Haha, awesome!
Yes. It's deffinetly sounds like the low speed needle is to lean. Great video!
Thanks!!.. Check our playlist. We have more 5th scale content for you to enjoy.
@@BMPowered 👍
A little bit on the lean side on the low speed needle, but you gotta love the HPI Baja 5B. It still is a awesome buggy!
Thanks!!
@salem3bdulla Yes they are super durable. Even more than my Arrma Kraton and Outcast. I have 3 HPI Baja's:)
@salem3bdulla Yes I've changed to a metal spur gear because I kept stripping the stock plastic spur gears. But for the rest, it's a very strong car. I did upgrade some parts on my car however because I like to make it more custom and strong for bashing. But not a whole lot breaks on the Baja fortunately
I’m #134 👍🏻 good luck on the journey to 1k. Video was great 👍🏻 I’m looking forward to the next
Thanks for subscribing. Hope we can continue bringing even better content!
Subbed to your channel. You have some awesome cars!
B.M. Powered Thanks I appreciate that🙏🏻🍻
I just noticed the cincy reds shirt!. Life long Reds fan...
Heck yeah!!!
Awesome video man keep up the nice work sounds like the low-speed is a little bit too lean Richie net up 1/8 turn enjoy your run like a top
Thanks for the info!
would you recommend getting the king motor baja v2 2 speed or the rovan 3 speed? I want to know if either is easier or just plain easy to install and tune, and what will last longer because the king motor is 200 and the rovan is 170. The rovan comes with a plastic gear cover while the king motor comes with a cnc aluminum cover.
I wish I had a good answer. We have both Rovan and King Motors, but we haven't gotten to that longevity point yet. In our experience, they are both good so far. I haven't read enough reviews on the 2 and 3 speeds to really be any help.
great vid. that water wet the filter so it really wasnt running perfect. not trying to be a know it all or anything. but notice when you hit the trigger it kinda hesitated? either the filter was wet or the low speed jet need a little adjustment.
We love suggestions from our UA-cam Family. We never think people are know it alls, just more experienced and helpful!! I think it was the jet needle and airfilter combined. That was the 1st run after it sat for about 6 years. It took forever to get the engine to run that day. It needed tuned very badly. But nonetheless, I had a blast bringing it back out.
@@BMPowered heck yeah man thats what its all about! im currently on the hunt for a vintage blackfoot!! had one when i was a kid and i gotta get another one for my little boy! keep that bad boy there running and keep us updated on any uprades!!
If we upgrade it anymore, we will definitely throw it up on YT. I kind of want to keep it close to original as I can. When I was 16, many many moons ago, I worked at a hobby shop and we sold a ton of Blackfoot trucks and Lunchbox and Midnight Pumpkins. I had a Futaba FX10, and we may do a restore video on it. Doing this channel has brought back so many fond memories of when I was a kid at that hobby shop. Remember the USA1 4x4x4 Kyosho? I wanted that so bad, back then..
@@BMPowered yes i remember those well. i was a clod fan tho. i have a bullhead that i run now and then im actually playing with by 3d printing some upgrade parts it. fun stuff. maybe i could send you some material to look at sometime.
I remember the clod buster! That truck was cool. I barely remember an RC 10 nitro some guy brought in, looking for parts. 1st nitro I had ever seen. It had a gold pan and was pretty cool. You can email us. Our email address is in the description of our vids.. Funny you mentioned 3D prints.. I just got a new Delta 3d Printer today. Got tired of the DaVinci and my Anet A8 needs a rom flash to stock or something. It has never printed right and dumps plastic in the lower corner of bed, like it looses touch with the gcode.
I already have neighbours that tell me do you have to run that car on the street go to a park they say an that's 6s battery if I had that my goodness they would shi t all over me lol hahaha
Where the fuck you at , you reignited my love for R/C cars . Upload some new shit man
What’s a really really good pull starter for the hpi Baja 5B 30.5cc because i just got my Baja in the mail today, and after going going over the buggy making sure everything was tight I went to start it and the pull start broke ,took it off and the spring went every where so I never got to even hear my buggy run sucks ,so any advice on a really good pull start and where to get it could you drop a link please ?
I can't keep my baja running longer that 3 seconds.new carb,fresh gas new plug.but I am a newbie
Sorry to hear that. There could be many causes. I found a lost on an hpi forum that has a lot of good potential fixes. www.hpibajaforum.com/threads/engine-starts-then-stops.4748/. Hope you find a solution.
too bad had problem with radio missing pieces. send it back! buggy looks and sounds awesome for as old as it is. me think carburetor needs tweaked on low end.
Thanks! Yep, sent it back. We worked on the low end a bit, but it still needs some work. Thanks for the feedback!
U can make ur own bind plug buy cuttin an old plug off and joining the 2 end wires together
@@Basherrc Thanks!
Quick tip.
By the look of that pull start,
You beat the crap out of it.
There some guy's who build these engine's themselves.
OBR brother's
Hope it helps you like it helped me
Thanks for the info! Hehe, you could be right. It is 9 years old. Fun car!
@@BMPowered and I see you guys are planning on getting installing a new radio system.
I highly suggest pursuing a killswitch.
Thanks, may be something we add:).
@@BMPowered goodluck to you fellas 🤘🏿🤘🏿
What bm stand for?
It's a play on our last names and also be empowered. Thanks for asking!!
Is HPI Baja 5B is Discontinued?where can I get a new one
They still technically make them. Just not the 5b.
You can find online or local resellers here: www.hpiracing.com/en/kits/CPEF
Do we need to put oil in the air filter?
Yes. not the inner filter, but the foam outside.. don't super soak it either, just a little and work it in by squeezing the foam.
What are them smiley face light covers called ?
They're just stickers.
@@BMPowered oh really where do you buy them ?
I see some on ebay, but having trouble finding them otherwise.
Hi!
Have you got telegram group to talk about rc?
you are so underrated
Thank you! It means a ton! Share away, lol.
Yo homie I'm the fastest man in wv 147 mph we need to get my channel jumping and we need to find a road so we can put wv on the map I love the channel great content!I do speed running video!
New subscriber here, just bought my first hpi baja buggy. The steering servo is busted i was just wondering if you could recommend a servo that drops right in with no mods . love all the baja videos
Welcome! I mean, it depends on how much you want to spend. You can pick up www.amazon.com/Xmax-Racing-Digital-Steering-Servo/dp/B01NB11ZC3 and it will work great. There are cheaper ones out there as well.
@@BMPowered I'm not really worried about price I just want it to fit without having to make modifications or by different brackets or anything else I just wanted to drop right in
Lol let’s run it through a lake ….my man said don’t do that 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Replace yr exhaust lads. Those stock Zorts rob power
Actually, it's not stock....but maybe not the best exhaust 🤣🤣
I remember correctly the OG. HPI baja 5b 1st gen pre-built RTR came with a 23cc engine and a generic weedeater muffler that connected to a tube that went out and under the rear wing. The exhaust on their OG looks to be similiar to the one that was in the HPI SS Kit build version that came with a the bigger 26cc motor. I could be wrong but that's what it looks like to me. Change that out for more power band.
More rc stuff and I’ll sub
We have more RC stuff planned. Next video should be up later today, and will be RC.
Become a member on 1/5 scale obsession on Facebook. Very helpful
Awesome, thanks!
Baja 26cc weight 11.7 kilograms
Hey a necessary upgradw is a kill switch..subbed you..check out woogie nitro on you tube..great vid man
Thanks for the feedback. You are not the first to suggest. We will keep that in mind and may add that.
flysky freakin sucks. and you could have fixed that pull starter in 5 minutes. i actually did mine today when the knot came out of the cord . waste of money.
I'll have to agree with you on the flysky. Always good to have a backup pull start. Actually had to use it on another car anyway, lol.
I've had a Flysky in the past but I find it too slow in respons. So I switched over to a Radiolink for my budget transmitter/receivers. For the high end stuff I use my Futaba 4PX which is awesome.
@@Tomberland84 Yep, I agree👍
@@Tomberland84 i use futaba on my planes. i did get a fly sky once but i threw it in the trash.
Warm it up or it wont last ..
Don't worry, we did :).
That's not loud!!!!
It is in person, lol. So loud.
B.M. Powered oh I know, I built an original when they first came out! Then I built this beast ua-cam.com/video/hx9TTVCSIzQ/v-deo.html
Soooo loud!
But then again fortnight it self sucks
Sounds like crapola
Do you have any suggestions on how to make it sound better? We will take any feedback you have if it helps.
@@BMPowered not that it sounds bad , the needles probley ned to be tuned a little . its bogging down a bit.
The tune is awful lol
oh yeah.. she had sat for about 8 years.. We got it tuned better now. I went back and watched the video of where it was running...Yeah its an awful tune back then, but at least we got it running and having a blast again..
Only now seeing this reply 3 years later how's u dude
