I've had my DDJ 1000 SRT since almost 2years now. It was the best $1299 I ever spent. It was the closet thing to the CDJ 800's (jog wheel wise) I was using before I switched. I'm totally satisfied as I'm learning more about what this controller has to offer everyday. I would buy again.
I made this comment on your SR2 video, and I think that the Mixars Primo is overall a better controller. It just offers more stuff for your money, such as bigger jog wheels, longer pitch faders, a light for the play head, and it's own standalone effects. I was debating between which one I should upgrade to and I think the Primo is the one.

Great video! For me, I would choose the DDJ-400 over the SB3 because the tempo fader is bigger and in a more comfortable location. I hope they make a DDJ-400SRT one day. Haha!

At home I still have my SkyTec 350 mixer, Power Dynamics PDC-20, JB Systems CD-500 twin CD-players, JBS Disco-2000 turntable & Akai HX-27W double cassette-deck. #RetroTech 🎚🎛 my intention is to install this gear in a rack to be used in my (still to be built) home-studio.
All I use is Numark Products and they work with both Serato & Virtual DJ. I used Serato in the past, but in NEPA people love to Karaoke and Videos..That’s why I made the Switch and never looked back.
Hey Nice video, you still using the ddj 1000? I just saw a review of this guy saying the sound quality on this controller is bad and so many negative things about it that makes me question the one I just order online. The thing that worries me the most is the sound quality. Other dj with the same controller said he use an audio interface to make it sound better thats how bad the sound card in this ddj is. I guess I'll wait until I got my shipment to decide if I keep it or return it. I hope I can get to keep it :(

I have an SR2 but it’s cool. I didn’t like the SRT 1000 mainly because it doesn’t have on board controls for software effects. Additionally I’m a turntable-list. I’ve never liked the feel of CDJs but I am rocking an SX3 and loving it!
Just upgraded from DDJ Sb3 to DDJ SX3 , SX3 is not compatible with my lates M1 chip MACBOOK PRO. What waste of $$. Sucks, Should of gotten the 1000 for $100 more🤦🏽♂️ .. weird DDJ SB3 works 100% w the newest M1 chip MACBOOKPRO. ...👉🏾 .. great video DJ BARR. ty for sharing
I own the DDJ-1000 it's awesome!! I started on vinyls back in the mid 80's and have owned every controller out there from the first Hercules and up and the DDJ-1000 has been the best!!!
Did Pioneer sponsor this vid? The Nuwark MixTrack Platinum FX beats the SB3 with the long faders, jog display and the effects paddles. The SRT is still more designed for Rekordbox than it is for Serato. The overall layout is screaming RB in your face and the functions of the SRT are a bit more limited than the original ddj1000.
Great review- I exclusively used Serato from the time the SL1 box was released. When Pioneer released the DDJ-1000 I started using Rekordbox. Today I use both softwares- however for me Rekordbox vocal analysis, track rating, dynamic BPM analysis and being able to export tracks and Playlist to USB make the Rekordbox workflow much easier.
Totally agree on the SR2. I have the rekordbox version(DDJRR) and am quite happy with it. Just did a review on it in fact. I've yet to try serato, but the UI in Rekordbox is pretty good. Cheers Barr. Good video. And Happy New Year man!!

I have the 1000 SRT and it is dope for sure. I still prefer the SZ2 for the exact reason you said, the controller just feels cramped. If they gave it that same full size spacing of the mixer on the 900/SZ2, it would literally be perfect to me
When I first started deejaying I started on some denon cdjs like the really small ones, after that I wanted something more portable so I bought a mix track pro , the very first one lmao , then came the pioneer ddj sx2. Now the mixtrack pro was probably the best controller I had because of how lightweight and how much it did for its time. After all those I got myself the pioneer ddj sz which is in my opinion the best still even with the srt 1000 out ! More features and a lot more space. But for small events and social gatherings I got myself the pioneer ddj sr2 which is literally amazing and it reminds me of my first controller the mixtrack pro !
I have the DDJ SB3 and it's a great controller. I upgraded to Serato pro but want to upgrade my controller because I outgrew the SB3, also you cannot record the microphone. Does anybody know if you can record the microphone on the DDJ SR2?
Can you make one for the Rekordbox dj controllers too? Please? BUT I PREFER SERATO ALL THE WAY. However I need to learn Rekordbox for the CDJs. PS: My entry level is a Roland DJ 202! Absolutely amazing and for the extra 50 to $75, it is worth it.
I started with a hercules controler and bumped up to a ddjsr in about 2 years later went from an sr to an sx then 2 more years bumped up to the ddjsrt when it barely came out
I started with the sb3, then got the sx3, then got the srt... I advise you to get the SRT with the ddj xp1 or xp2.. go straight to the srt.. trust me.. I love my SX3 but I'm selling it right now for $900
The issue: It is all overpriced Pioneer. All your videos seem only Pioneer focused. That's pretty sad when you have a much more innovative (and affordable) alternative called Denon on the market, too.

I never use a DJ controller, only stand alone Mixer and Player how understand every Audio format! Pioneer CDJ 900 nexus and Pioneer djm 2000 nexus! Only DJ loser using controller! And my friend, I have never seen that clubs using a controller! Controller never club ready! Hahahaha club ready, the story is for laughing, really!

When I started my first controller I got was a sr and it is still my main controller. For me at least it still works.

The Numark NS6ii is the BEST MidRange, Portable, Solidly Built, In/Out Plug FULL, DJ Controller There Is… Look Into It 👍🏼
I will say though I wasn’t fond of the DDJ-SR2 compare to the DDJ-800, and the Roland DJ-505. Where each one had something special.

Hi. Been using Traktor with a Numark controller. This year switched to Denon MC7000 with Serato. Just takes a bit of getting use too.
