Huge Square Enix Shakeup, PC Gaming Now Their Focus

- It's always good news when exclusivity comes to an end and publishers / platform holders open their games up to more people.
Square Enix spent years arrogantly shunning PC players, ripping us off with years late ports and charging full price for them.
It seems taking Sony money for games like Final Fantasy XVI & VII Rebirth has backfired as both games have under performed and a big part of that was locking it away on the PS5 and testing the patience of PC players, the biggest audience in 2024 for these games.
This isn't the PS1 era anymore, Square Enix have accepted that they need to launch their games day 1 on PC if they want to recapture their old magic.
They did not say that they will focus to pc they say that there games will go everywhere . Of course that will change nothing if you don´t make games that we want to play Square Enix
The same thing happens with Epic Store exclusives. I see a game I want that's exclusive to Epic, I'll wait for it to come to Steam or GoG. The problem is we're so flooded with games these days that once it does come to Steam I would have forgotten it, or I've just moved on. It happened with Darkest Dungeon 2 and Salt & Sacrifice, from what I can remember off the top of my head. I still haven't purchased those games yet, let alone played them.
Ace Combat series has better storytelling than the new Final Fantasy remakes .
Exclusives were a good thing back then when there was competition between sega, Nintendo, Sony. Xbox, atati and so on. But now they’ve bought up everything and it’s become pointless. Both Microsoft and Sony need to have a sit down talk and decide to make their games available for every platform. Why not. What negative could come out of it.
I was stoked for FF7R until I found out I had to buy it 3 times and buy a ps5. No thanks SE that's absolutely insane.
If only Square Enix made games that I want to play, I'd be pumped. I'd need the help of Google to see if there's ever been one to be honest.

9:00 Depends entirely on the game. The best example would be GTA VI, once that releases on PC in 12 - 15 months time, it will sell again in record numbers. I know, Rockstar games are a freak of nature, a Bully remake would probably break records, but even a game like Bloodborne would sell very well if it ever gets a PC port, and that first came out in 2015.
Bloodborne with an uncapped frame rate on PC would do well. I would buy this on PC.

@@rubyvi5442 Have you considered GoG? I have moved my purchase activity there because their platform only allows DRM free games. So my HDD is full of DRM Free standalone and offline GoG game installers that I can run any time I desire. I still have loads on Steam, but I place a lot more value on GoG platform as it offers better control for me.
It depends on how demanding and optimised it will be on pc, most people are on low tier hardware. I will wait for a sale no matter what, it's not like we are in shortage of games on pc.

The reason why the FF7 rebirth fell short is because they scuffed it.
Well it still would’ve sold more copies if it was multiplat, I think that’s what the general idea is. I’m aware of the story fluffs people mention, the sales overall still would’ve been higher at the launch day.
We wanted a 1:1 remake on PS3. We never got it. They teased us with that tech demo then left us with blue balls for years. Then they made that godawful shit.

Thats what happen when people boycott things. I banned every square enix game til they learn their lesson. Even if they release FF16 and rebirth on pc i will never buy them. I dont buy things then they ignore me. If they start releasing things on PC as anything else. I will buy those things. But things they already released. I wont. Fuck them
Nobody want to buy woke games. Like FF7 remake. Censoring Tifa is not good move, and Im not talking about latest pacth. Adult Tifa is censored and protected from ''male gaze''. No upskirt shoots, no money. That is how you lose 70% of money. Protecting inocent pixels, got you so far.
I just wait for a sale on PC then download a few mods. I won't pay 70 dollars for a videogame.
