Thank you so much for posting this a Very thorough video. I am rehydration y starter that was given to me two years ago. And able to follow your steps. Thank you again. You got a new follower. :) I will be checking you beginner's friendly videos as soon as my starter will grow. :)
Awesome tips! My starter has been in the fridge and I feed it once per week. I accidentally skipped a week and it was fine. I just fed it while watching your video😊
As long as the new starter you started was bubbly, you can use the discard in SO many recipes that do not require a rise! Please do not throw out! Or as she said, feed to your chickens.❤
Interesting, perhaps the humidity in the house or the cleanliness of the utensils or jar? Sometimes it's just unknown. Here is a great article from a friend of mine on troubleshooting mold on your starter. ourgabledhome.com/mold-on-your-sourdough-starter-check-out-these-causes/
Ha! This is my husband's biggest complaint with sourdough, he hates cleaning it out of jars. I do put it down the drain but with plenty of water. I don't know about clogging, it seems possible I suppose but not very likely.
@@theeverydayfarmhouse8722 actually looks good, I've never had this happen before. So I was kinda upset that they got in such a tiny space.. but they are tiny. Thanks
“Artesian” 😂🤣😂. I believe you meant Artisan. Those 2 words have VERY different meanings. The word youre using refers to a well! I believe you meant Artisan… a food made in a traditional way. I highly suggest that you google the 2 words and press the pronunciation icon. Nice job on the video other than that faux pas!
Ha! We just had a discussion the pronunciation of this the other day with some friends! Ah well...we have an artesian well and I'm used to saying it that way!

Thank you so much! I love that you bake sourdough as well!

This was SOOO HELPFUL! Thank you 🙏 very much! Great explanations & visuals!
Awesome tips Jennifer 👍
Mine grew mold after two days. So I scooped out the mold & put the starter in the fridge. What would have caused that?

How do you wash the used jars and utensils? I read it’s not a good idea clean where it will go down the drain and clog the pipes? Is that true? TY

I toss it in the trash and soak the utensils and jar in cold water and dump it in the garden.
You are so pretty!
So cute when your son peeks
2 Knat got into my starter, is this bad new😱
I guess that depends on your comfort level. I'm not sure a couple of gnats would deter me from using it. How does it look otherwise?
