I have had this game now for nineteen years ( which my sister and her husband left it for me to enjoy) and so I had forgotten how to play it until I saw your Very well explained video on the goal of the game, on how to play it. Thanks ‼️ Well done 👍
Yes, I'm so glad to find a video of this game since I haven't played it for 30+ years and my attention span to read instructions ut what it used to be. Aw, who am I kidding I've always disliked reading instructions. Thank you!
If I'm not mistaken, each round is to 1000 miles, but the full game consists of multiple rounds that add up to 5000 pts. There are also bonuses for completing each round within certain parameters, such as not using the 200 distance card, etc. But the rules also I think have been updated recently, and these are probably the original rules. Also, the original rules are four 4 people comprising two teams. :)
I'll always think of Mille Bornes with nostalgia, but also a sense of loss for the discretely and economically artistic look of the original game - rather than that shouty, obvious look of the modern deck.
I'm debating whether to give my ancient copy to my grandkids. They are cut-throat UNO players and this looks right up their alley. I'd better practice first. 😁
If you have a hazard card and can't put down mileage cards you do have 3 things you can do. 1. Play a Hazard Card on your opponent 2. Play a Safety Card and Remove the Hazard that is on you. 3. Discard a Card and Pass you r turn. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
Thank you for the clarification. I didn't take French and only have the pronunciation from others in my geographical area to go off of. Thank you for watching. Cheers!
The game comes with: Pack of cards (110) - 106 play cards - 2 score cards - 2 guide cards Card Tray Rule Book The list above is all the game comes with. Thanks for watching, and hopes this helps. Cheers!
Hi sir and thanks for the tutorial. I recently bought Mile Bornes and I need you to help me.I´ve got 2 questions about the game:1.- I´m attacked by a hazard card and I don´t have the remedy, but I´ve got a hazard in my hand...Can I attack other opponent in my turn? or I Can´t do nothing till I have the remedy to fix my situation?2.- I´m attacked by a hazard card and I don´t have the remedy, if I have a Safety Card in my hand (that doesn´t fix my situation) Can I play it and get 100 points? or I Can´t do nothing till I have the remedy to fix my situation? Thanks in advance for helping me.
Thank you for watching, I will be happy to answer your questions. You can play a hazard card on another player if you already have one on yourself. The only thing hazard cards stop is you playing distance cards. If you have a safety card you can play it to gain your 100 points, like before only distance cards are effected. Cheers.
Hi Daniel. Do you have an iPhone? There is a Mille Bornes clone app called 1000 Bornes. It employs ALL the rules and scoring from the full card game. So it's a great way to learn. For future reference, the game is pronounced Meal Born. The S is silent. The P is also silent in Coup Fouré, so that is pronunced Coo For-RAY. Enjoy the game!!
Hi MacSmaley and thank you very much for the information. Unfortunately, I don´t have an iPhone. I found at Android Play Store a clone of Original Mille Bornes. I played it few times and learnt the basics.Surprisingly, I recently bought latest Mille Bornes (Asmodee Edition in blue metal box that you can see in 8:45 of the video) and the paper rules you find inside are a Little bit different from the Parker Bros Original rules.Above all I´m having some fun with this game and happy to have this classic in my card games collection.Best regards.
Glad you found something. Interesting observation about the rules in the new Asmodee box. I wonder if they are printed online somewhere. Meanwhile, I got the name wrong for that iOS app. That's correct name is 1000 Miles, not Bornes. For those who do have Apple devices, here is the link, if YT will permit me to post it: 1000 Miles by Emma Whan appsto.re/us/lOlpM.i
We have gone through our game inventory and surprisingly don't currently own this game. We take your request seriously and are looking into buying a copy so we can create the requested content. Please stay tuned for this episode in the future. Cheers!
This video is in our Season 0, and was the first video we ever produced. It was before we had a good grasp on what was needed to make a video. We have since made a shorter intro and are currently not using this one. I do want thank you for watching it and hope this helps answer your question. Cheers!
I appreciate your input, but due to the pandemic our live play through plans are still on hold. That will change in the future, when health, heavy work load in our day to day jobs, and time improves. I do thank your for watching. Cheers!
Saying getting to 1000 miles over and over when you are supposed to get to 700 (1000 for an extension)... Also, you don't reshuffle when there are no cards left... You dont get a free turn when you PLAY a safety card, only if you Coup Fouree (also doesnt know how to pronounce this, lol)... Have you read the instructions? lol
@@bensasser4468 what edition of this game do you have? I am reading the rules directly from the 2014 Asmodee/Dujardin metal box version. I re-checked my rule book. It allows you to reshuffle, needing 1000 miles to win, and "When you play a Safety card, you can immediately play again". Would like to know what edition your talking about.
My apologies. If you are playing with 4 players, you do 1000 miles. However one, two, or three players you play to 700 and have the option of calling for an extension to 1000. I was wrong about the safety cards. You do get to go again. You do NOT reshuffle in the middle of a hand. You play until someone gets to 700 or 1000 or until no one can play anything. If you get to the milestone with no cards in the draw pile, you get the delayed action score. You also don't explain that you play to 5000 points. Each hand is working towards that.
@@bensasser4468 On further inspection of the rules from my 2014 Edition, both "How to play: 2 to 4 Players" and "Rules for 4 to 6 players, in teams of 2" only say "Play proceeds until of of the players' reaches 1000 miles or more with their Distance and Safety cards in their driving zone". I don't see anything about an extension in the regular or Fast play rules. What edition are your rules form?
This is my first video that was made several years ago. It has my first intro that has since been abandoned due to it being way to long. The video is a bit rough, but still has some value to it. I hope this helps answer your question. Cheers!
I don't collect any ad revenue. I make these video's to try and help people learn about a game. Depending on the game my video's can range from 5 mins to about 25 mins. I make these video's as a way of sharing my hobby. Thank you for watching.
This channels mission is to help people who are missing rule books for games, or due to age can't read the fine print in the rule books anymore. Sorry that you didn't like this video, but I do get lots of feedback thanking me for doing what I am doing. Thank you for your comment and watching. Cheers!
I thought I'd offer a bit of constructive criticism before merely clicking away without actually viewing its content. Your nearly full-minute opening montage on a 10 long video is a bit much.... But you've also mispelled "challenging" in the needlessly haughty intro.... and frankly, I don't trust your opinion anymore, and am moving on. Have a nice edit session.
I appreciate your input. As I have stated in the past, comments below this one, and on the video itself, this video has its problems. I have since abandoned the long intro. This was my first video and was still learning what not to do. I didn't notice my spelling mistake until a person like yourself pointed it out to me. I do thank you for taking the time to look at my work, and would invite you to look at some of my other work before judging all of my work. Cheers!
As I have said before this is my first video and the spelling in the opening title is just one of many problems. I more than likely will make a new video of this one down the road. I have never claimed to be an expert. Just a gamer that loves older games. Thank you for watching. Cheers!
Thank you for refreshing my memory. I'm starting a game right now with my son. This was one of my favourite games when I was a teen 😊
You welcome. I'm glad I could help in a small way to pass your happy memory onto your son. Thank you for watching. Cheers!
Thanks for this! We just found this game at an estate sale with the cards still in their plastic, amazingly.
That is a great find. Glad I could help in some small way. Thank you for watching. Cheers!
