For anyone that might watch this in the future and can’t find the amp under the passenger seat, on my 2015 GT it’s behind the passenger side kick panel / glove box. Took me almost an hour to find it!
PAC AOEM-MAZ2 T-harness connects at the TAU behind the glovebox.. 2 sets of RCA outs (front and rear L/R) and a remote start wire. Works on 2007 to 2018 Mazda 3s.
@ProvoBeastAudio The BOSE processing is done at the amp, which I removed. The AA and Carplay are pre TAU. I use it my 2018 Mazda 3 Grand Touring with a DSP and Amp in the hatch.
Nice video. I guess that the OEM signal going from the OEM stereo to the dash tweeters is ALREADY filtered, since I see no capacitor on the OEM tweeter. Therefore, installing 3.5 speakers in the dash would be quite like just intstalling tweeters, since the range of signal will surely be above 3000 Hz, correct? Thanks
I have a 2014 cx5 the rear door speakers are more mid to lower. It has the Bose stereo. I wish I could find a harness to attach cause I’m very limited behind the head unit and the amp is u see the dash.
Nice video, thank you for that! I want to install an EM-Phaser EBP1000A on my Mazda with Bose System. It looks like nearly the Same Interface like the Woofer in the Video. It also has Hi-Lo Converter and Auto Turn on inside. But I anyway want to use the "Remote" cable to turn the Woofer on, because I had some bad memories regarding the auto turn on function. So u say we should use the "2D" Pin o the green harness. In an other post i see, that "2F" should be used. What is correct / better? Tanks!
I've watched several of your Mazda install videos. I'm putting a pwrd sub (JBL Nano) under the p-side seat of a '16 CX-5 Touring non-bose. It uses spkr-lvl (high) input. I'm trying to locate the best place to tap the spkr signal. I do not want to cut the factory radio harness (orange white plug). I want to tap the speaker wire after the orange (body harness); is that a good spot? Do I need to tap the front L/R or can I tap the rear L/R? is the rear spkr signal full range? it doesn't sound full range when fading 100% rear. I guess that is due to the spkr size.... Am I thinking correctly, or is there a better place to tap?
I really appreciate this video I've got 2 10 inch subs I wanted to change from my old 06 scion xb to My 2014 hatchback mazda 3 and I wanted to know what line output converter to get since it's different than the one in my old xb
Hi, great video. Question: my Mazda3 2016: w/o Bose system. Issue: the front speakers stopped working (doors, tweeter, etc...) barely some white noise and very faded sound. Yes, the fader is all the way set to the front. I believe either the amp is defective or -very unlikely- one bad speaker might the compromising the whole front speakers' volume? Any idea on how to fix this? The rear speakers work fine. Thanks
Hello it’s my first time installing anything electrical and im stuck installing the twisted pair RCA Cable to the boss speaker. I am confused in if I am using the pro 7 or not. The amp kit I got has a twisted RCA cable do I cut those ends off as well and there will be 2 wires in each side ? I’m really confused. Please help 🙏🏾
You just hook into the trunk speaker with a line converter to on the sub. All you run is the remote wire from the trunk to the driver door ign on/off fuse sign a low pro fuse splice. And r the batter to amp. Battery to cap neg. Cap neg to amp, cap neg to gnd. You just jump both pos and Neg from line converter to back trunk tweeter. Gnd the amp. Attach sub speaker wires to amp. Screw it all down. Btw don't mount your amp to the sub. Vibes are gonna break your Amps smds plus the giant magnet in the sun is an obvious no no next to a power amp. Don't runnpower from battery on same side as alternator on any car as a general rule. Anywys, this install is a lot easier than your method. I also spliced a gain switch befwen converter and RCA to the driver consul for game controller without walking to the truck..
To all trying to hook up High output to amp. This is not the best solution as quality of audio is not great.I am a dj, electronic engineer and music producer in one person. You want to replace stock stereo with third party stereo head unit with quality DSP and 50W RMS per speaker channel.Dedicated preamp for sub amplifier 600-1000W. Crossovers if you power up door speakers and tweeters from same OUT. Same goes for back speakers if using instead of sub. Crossovers is a must.Sub amp must have dB boost/trim ( shelf eq boost) and sub freq filter . Later on you want to upgrade door speakers to some reputable branded speakers such Pioneer, Alpine and such.Cheaper tweeters are good as long they are not piezo. Must be solid 40mm dia with coil. I used Blaupunkt EMA 455 600-Watt .Also I built own subs and they have not even have ports( 8-10Inch is fine) .All used in Ford Transit Custom van 2018.Stock stereo is a junk quality, so is in other cars.
Hey I’m currently installing a subwoofer for my 2019. Is the Bose amplifier the same as the one in the video ? And what tools did you use to take out the seat ? I’ve been trouble on that step. Thanks !
@@seabassgouin7825 yeah! My friends helped me out until it came to the step with the amplifier. I ended up taking my car to an Audio shop and they had the whole wiring kit. But I had them installed it for me cause it was a pain to figure it out. They only charged me $20 thankfully
Our powered subwoofer did it automatically for us. No remote wire needed in our case. If you need one, a line out converter can generate one for you (Pac LP7-2) or you can go to the fuse box for an accessory source.

What changes as far as installation if my mazda does not have the factory bose system?

What type of the pair of speakers in the trunk in this video? Are they midrange, tweeter or 6.5 inch coax?
You couldve routed into the rear tweeters. Just because the speakers cant produce the low freq bass doesnt mean that its not being sent over the wire

I saw that you did a skar sdr 10 in a Mazda 6. Between the Rockford p300 10 and the skar sdr 10 package which would you recommend?
Skar package is twice the power, but requires a bit more work to install. Just depends on your level of effort desired with the install.

JBL makes great 2 ohm coaxials amzn.to/3p9EjQd
Most speakers with JBL are 2 ohm. If you install a 4 ohm speaker, you will notice a significant power reduction.

No need if you run a t-harness adapter.

Impact driver. If using a ratchet and socket only, it will be tough. I recommend a breaker bar
