  • GE Aviation designed the business and general aviation industry’s first-ever electronic engine propeller control (EEPC) system to reduce pilot workload. With improved full auto-start capability as well as true single lever power control for both engine and propeller operation, the H Series engine with EEPC enhances safety and improve operating costs all leading to a more productive and enjoyable flying experience.

This is a derivative of Czech Walter M601 that's been around since 1960s. It's upgraded, rebranded now and being sold as a GE as a logical business move to acquire existing technology rather than invest hundreds of millions on R&D. So no surprises here.

The flow from the compressor to turbine is curious. Thank you for the animation.

This engine has been there for a long time and its very reliable one made by czech engineers it is a combination of turbomeca and pt6 and it's very cheap too now GE had aquired it expect the price to astronomical levels.

Cool setup. Why did it take so long for the industry to introduce this? Seems like the way it should have always been. Now to find a few million spare dollars and go get one...

This kind of configuration has been around since the 1960s, exemplified by the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6 engine.

If the H80 series is already giving away metal filings after only a short time of use, there is no support, expensive parts, bad GE Praga corruption, numerous bearing change bulletins, FCU changes, GEARBOX changes among thousands of other factors, imagine this new engine . It will be the successor to the H80 with new problems.

How much would a H75 with EEPC cost? there is not much price info around on the H engines.

How does the "H Series" turboprop engine compare with GE's "Advanced Turboprop" engine? Is it just a name change or is it more? Thanks!

    Interesting.
The only problem I have with the video is that the music track, when it starts out, sounds like a group of musicians tuning up. Sorry!

I'm from Brazil, Socana Aviação Agrícola
we bought a Thrush 510G and with only
1900 hours of engine operation it showed
metal filings, a serious problem. Thush never
provided support or honored the warranty. We
have more than 30 Thrush operators in Brazil
with problems. Thush and GE general
electric are the worst companies in this
    world.
I have photos, videos, reports. I have everything documented. We are bringing together all operators in Brazil to take legal action against GE.

Hideous music soundtrack for an otherwise innovative engine! Get your marketing better sorted.

The GE H80 series, formerly Walter, is a joke. There are infinite mandatory bulletins, the reduction box cannot last 500 hours, FCU bulletins and breakdowns, the engine has a bearing change bulletin which is more expensive than buying a PT6. I SAY this because I bought a Thrush 510G with a GE H80 engine. This engine showed filings after little use. GE Czech Prague will not assist you. Here in Brazil, all GE engines had problems. More than operators on the ground with a white elephant. Apart from the countless accidents.
