Black grouper and sharks

Back diving a cave in 170 foot for a black grouper when a nice bullshit shows up. Plenty of red snapper red grouper, and scamp to go with it

do you think the fish meet you coming down the water column are just use to boats chumming ? or they just feel or hear the boat in 170' and are curious ? Do you think they are always in the mid level water column even if boats are not around ?

They can definitely hear the boat. Motors and transducers

They are always up in the column though. We see it on the bottom recorder all the time. Can pick out the snapper and jacks above the bait

Do you Guys have, or ever used, Shark Shield when fishing.

Had one, but it broke within a couple years. I just heard the company is going under or trying to sell to pay debt. Chad doesn’t like them because he thinks the sharks get too jacked up around it and start darting around.
