This song was written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove and was originally sung by David Allen Coe but Chris Stapleton and his wife made it what it is today… a hit. No one sings this song as good as Chris… period!
@Cam&Cris nice! Just sub’d! Please react to Chris’s performance “2021 CMA Awards “Cold”! It’s absolutely amazing!! Chris is his own genre! He writes all his own songs unless he occasionally does a cover! His live performance of “It’s a Man’s World” is fantastic! Not planned. Band asked him if he’d come sing a song with them. Not his band,no rehearsal, crowd picked song & Chris killed it! I think he made James Brown proud!! Rip James
I don't know if you've already seen it or not, but if not, I recommend Chris Stapleton and Justin Timberlake at the CMA awards. Tennessee Whiskey / Drink You Away. Great performance by both.
No matter what kind of music you like...when we hear someone with true talent, it doesn't matter the genre of music, we recognize talent, soul, passion, and authenticity. This song is reminiscent of the love songs of the 60s and 70s (Motown) in which they sing of what love does for them. It's not like music of today which is more about sex. Most people in the USA consider Chris Stapleton as a country singer, but he is so much more! This man sings with soul, passion, and pure heartbreak. He has pure Soul in that gritty voice with an incredible blend of Country, Blues, R&B, and even some jazz drumming from his drummer. Loving the band, especially the harmonica. I think all music would be improved with the addition of a harmonica but that's just me. His runs are all different, and yet, each sounds amazing. I am not much a fan of country music but this man will bring me to country singing like that. There is another country, R&B combo that hits me in the heart and soul. Please listen to it and do a reaction, I think you'll love it. "Conway Twitty ft. Sam Moore - A Rainy Night in Georgia". You'll love me after listening to it.
Hey Guys just wanted t ask you if ya'll heard of Etta James' song called I'd Rather go blind it was a hit 60 yrs ago and it has the same feel as Tennessee Whisky with a different subject
I dont want to be negative, but you should have let the lady hear it. I thought she was gonna hit you at one point. He did ruin the reaction. Thank you both for sharing and will look out for more of your reactions.
@@camcris6387 your channel your rules, dont worry what people say. The only rule you have to obey is -no pauses during guitar solos, thats a deathly sin 🤣
I’m with you wifey he talk and stop too much but Chris is the original writer of that song but u gotta hear is song cold and his tribute to James brown it’s a man’s world and his prince tribute live
To help y’all out…in the 90’s, Country Artist, Travis Tritt fought hard to be accepted by the country music “industry”, although, he was always beloved by his fans. Travis’ music was a fusion of Blues, Rock and Country. What we love from the 70’s Southern Rock era, we currently have with this fusion in Country music currently. Chris Stapleton is first, an amazing Songwriter (but painfully shy); second, a Bluegrass artist. Then, his wife and always accompanying vocalist, Morgane, finally talked Chris into singing his songs, instead of writing for others.
Great song and reaction! Check out Chris' "Death Row" and Black Sabbath's "War Pigs." Don't let their name scare you 😂💚🤙 T-Whiskey was originally recorded by David Allan Coe in 1981.
Nice reaction. She was about to knock you out for all those pauses. 😂
I don't blame her, I was too
Me too

It was a stroke of genius to adapt it to an old Etta James tune. It let Chris bring out the heart and soul of the song in a different way.
Oh man ive played this soooo many times,im glad you had the opportunity to hear it..the bomb.
Please tell me you guys watched his song “cold” live

There are some amazing singers who play the drums. Phil Collins and Don Henley come to mind.
Yes! The live versions of Hotel California and In the Air Tonight are GOLD

So glad you picked this version of the song. The improvisation here cant be beat. Way better than the album version!

You are killing her vib!! 😂
I don’t usually love live versions. Of almost any artists. But Chris Stapleton is the exception where I prefer him live over any studio version.

I’m sure someone else has said it, but his wife is the back up vocalist. Sometimes I cry is another one of his greats. Great reaction!
I love the saxophone 🎷 ❤
You all killing me so great😊
