@@DaletheCasualGamer 😂 I have tried similar tactic with my wife. Same results. My kids like blokus so I thought his would be similar and fun plus they love cats.
Place the next cat or treasure anywhere on the boat is the best card in the game, IMHO. I will typically start in the aft (front) or stern (rear), so playing the 'anywhere' card allows me to put a cat on the opposite end. Also, the captain's rooms are the easiest to fill in, so it helps to put cats in each one. I have never been able to cover the open decking section (which has no icon and is the largest section). For one, I have never came even close to filling in the whole boat (not sure you can in solo mode). For two, it is the largest section. I try to place 3 cats each round. Maybe 4 in a couple of rounds if I have the baskets. Not sure many more can be placed given the cost and baskets involved. I have found treasure cards to often make the difference. I keep everyone I get and hope to have 3-5 to use on my 4-5 turn. They help a lot in filling in 'holes' and covering rats. And, sometimes I have a lesson card that gives a point for each one. An extra plus.
@@DaletheCasualGamer Not expert. :-) I can win on hard, but usually not by a lot. When I draw my sister's lessons I won't include one if it contradicts another one. i.e. have cats all around the edge for a bonus AND have NO cats around the edge for a bonus. A person wouldn't include such lessons together.
Sorry for all the comments. The Oshax at 20:16, I would have made it green since it is close to the green treasure map. Making it red was okay, but I think going green would have been better.
No problem, thanks for watching! I think I was wondering where the red cats were ... they all came out next round, but green would have been better for placement next to the green map. :) Thanks!
Just for this from target on clearance. I’m excited to play the family version with my kids. Thanks for teaching me.
My wife is a cat lover, so I hoping to get her into the game ... it didn't work. Better luck with your family! :)

Thanks for sharing!
I got my KS last week and have been playing the solo game a lot. Really enjoying it.
I really enjoy the game, and am looking forward to a multi-player game. :)
Are you expert level yet?

Thanks for the play through!
