Apple Tree - (Circle Song Game)

There are different ways of playing the “Apple Tree” circle game. I have the children form a circle and they pass an apple shaker in a steady beat for the first part of the song.
Apple tree, apple tree,
Will your apple fall on me?
I won’t cry, I won’t shout,
If your apple knocks me out!
When we get to the word “out” that child holds the apple and then we sing the second part of the song.
Teacher sings: Who has an apple?
Students sing: _________ has an apple.
Everyone sings: Oh, oh, oh, how do you know?
Teacher sings: Where is your apple?
Student with apple sings: On my knee.
This is a backing track lyrics video, which increases in tempo (70bpm - 150bpm). This makes it more fun challenging. When children don’t pass the apple in the correct time, or if they drop the apple, they come out of the circle and play the rhythm of the song with egg shakers or rhythm sticks. You can also put the students that get out back in for each new tempo round or every couple of rounds, so that they stay engaged and motivated.
