Customized product pages are created through “product page templates” and in this tutorial-style video, I will walk you through step by step how to create and set up your product page templates in Shopify AND how to bulk assign your products to your new template in Shopify.

Quick question though. I created my template but when I assign it to different products, the details of the original product link to the new product. In other words, I cannot assign the same template to ALL products + edit each one with their respective details.
For instance, if I said one toy has a squeek noise so I put that in the description, that text then gets applied to all other pages.
Any help is much appreciated!
so what you can do is create MULTIPLE product page templates for higher level catergories, assuming you sell dog toys . Product page template #1 is for squeaky toys then assign only sweaky toys to that. Product Page template #2 is for plush toys, etc etc!
This is a great video! I’m just a little confused about how to apply this template to all of the products. My store has like 1000 products. Do I have to apply the template to all of the product pages? Because I have so many different products, if it possible to have several different product themes? I love the idea of adding images of the products being used but they wouldn’t apply to all of my products. Can you specify the “much easier way” that you mention?
Do the templates work if my theme isn’t live?
thanks so much!! You can create as many different product page templates as you want and assign to different products. for example if you are an online store selling candles, and candle vessels you might create two different product page templates, add different things to highlight candles and then for the vesells you would add specific things to that then assign your candles to the candle template etc :) thats what i would recommend! You cant assign the products to the updated page template until the theme is live!

Thank you for the video! I wonder why I have less options when I am adding a section to the product page template. There is no gallery, no FAQ, no Testimonials... Do I need to install additional Apps or plug-ins to see these options? Thanks!
Hi! what sections do you mean exactly? It totally depends on your shopify theme which options/variety of things you can add to your product oage template (unfortunately) haha like today i was doing a website for a client and one theme had totally different sections than the other, so you kinda have to get creative but here is my biggest tip- if you have a lot of options be sure to buy a theme from shopify, the free shopify themes are pretty crumby! Not sure if you will see this on a year old video. 😅 I am just opening a Shopify shop. Do you know if I start with a free theme and switch to a paid theme later, will it easily move my products over or will it be a major headache. If so, I may go ahead with the paid theme.
Luckily youtube provides comments haha so once you do a theme and create anything within the theme it will NOT change over if you want to move to a different theme, you have to create it again :) Paid theme ALL the way! My fave is impulse

I am developing a new theme and when I create a new product-template it does not show up in the "Theme template" drop down. Why is that?
if your theme your working on IS NOT PUBLISHED- products you assign to a product page template will not be visible:) it only shows when the new theme is live and published and products are assigned to that theme

are you using a shopify 2.0 upgraded theme?

i ceated my pages, and checked their visibility, but i still can't see any of theme on my main store page
go to the product page then assign it to the new template - it will be at the bottom right of the page

So actually I could:
1) create template by own and don't pay anyone 150$?
2) use build-in mechanism to create template so I don't need any external software/tools (Fligma, Codux, etc)?
any limitations with functionality or I should pay for specific modules, or I must to buy some "page builder" to create own template?
Oooorrrrr you could save hundreds of hours and pay $300 for a shopify theme!!! But in all seriousness i’m sure there are ways to build on your own but with pre built templates- why waste your time? Just my thoughts here my friend but you do whatever is best for you💗💗
@@KerrieFitzgerald1 i'm just IT guy, so It's interesting for me to make something own except free templates which already available. So for this prospective I'm asking is it possible to created my own templates, or I should pay in any case for modules or theme builders. And there is war in my country now, so if I have free templates, than I better spend 300$ for donates
