    The Hiby RS2 Pure Audio Player was designed with a purist audio experience in mind. But with no streaming capabilities, is the $479 price tag justifiable?

    Two additional points , it can hold 4TB of data so is the best solution I could find to carry a very large collection and it has a line out to use your favourite amp like a mojo. I am delighted with mine.

      Quanti TB tiene è inutile, si dovrebbe sapere quante tracce riesce a gestire. Alcuni Surfans arrivano a 14999, Hidizs AP80 Pro-X arriva a 20000. Nessuno che io sappia gestisce più di 20000 titoli, che siano in Micro SD da 256Gb, 512Gb o 1-2-3 o 4 TB…

    Hi sir! First of all, thank you for the lovely review. Now may i ask, what do you mean by "purist approach"? Now im a detail freak myself because it helps me as a musician if a gear is highly resolving. Im glad to hear that you are not missing much even though rs2 is leaning to the warmer side of things. Anyways that is my query and im sold. I should be getting one of this next week.

    I once tried the Cayin N6II with R01 module, it sounded so different from other DAPs I have heard from others. More analog, more natural, excellent layering and density. My next DAP is going to be an R2R one.

      @@PaulAup62 you're over thinking. With all audio digital goes in as it's the format it's stored in and when it's played back and you hear it you are hearing the analog conversion of that digital file.

    Been using this for 6 months .. love it … good for soft rock, music and songs have good separation. Anything that is fast paced .. it won’t do a good job , and the sound won’t “wow” you as much but very pleasant to the ears regardless. The original hela earphones wasent that great as the iem caused a bit of noticeable fatigue.

    Man I have so many issues with DAPs. I love low price small DAPs, and I love Hibys work, they have some fantastic small players. At the same time though, I've had daps from a 2500 dollar SP2000T to a HiBy R3, to a new android phone with qualcomms new dap, and a 50 dollar LG phone with the quad dac. The best sounding one of all, was the LG. Better than the 2500 Astell and Kern flagship. Output is obviously different but it can power any IEM. The R3 can power HD600s no problem, so I just don't know. I love my little R3, use it all the time for running and listening to music, it's (relatively) cheap, battery lasts forever, and can power my collection easily.
    Anyways that's my rambling, great video!

    A warning for anyone buying this. I own a hiby r5 ii. The 2.5mm jack didn't work out of the box. The build quality is great. The sound quality is great but the QC of Hiby is bad. Now idk how this one sounds but the hiby r5 ii seems to be the superior model. But still be cautious. I even contacted them years ago and they asked me to prove it. So I recorded myself demonstrating and that wasn't enough. They don't pay for return shipping because it costs hundreds and I've been living with a hiby r5 ii with only 3.5 and 4.4 jacks. Now the sound is amazing with the class a mode on but if your player has defects they are a small company as I was told and they can't help much as they are all the way in China. 🤷‍♂️

    I bought a r3 Sabre when it first came out, fantastic! I bought a second one 1 year later direct from hiby on a black Friday sale. Completely different sound signature, very much a down grade as the treble is not tight. Not sure I would get another hiby device. It could be a mistake or a bait and switch. Not sure but they do not sound the same. Also both are the same firmware. I have tested both on firmware 1.4 and 1.7.

      I bought a Hiby Rs6 in November. I don't know how much it sounds like the R3, but the treble is pretty neat. Also the filter options are nice. Although the usability is sometimes complicated for me and the filter and Equalizer only works on hiby Player for me. But this is most likely do to using Tidal.

    Hey it’s me again, i have a question and i think/hope it’s a good one,,, so ive been learning and getting into iems more, i read that est drivers are better than ba drivers for details,, now i noticed almost everyone sayimg that the mangird top(i just purchased) is extremely good and details are top notch,, now they have no est drivers, so are the ba drivers just that good or are they still inferior to est drivers?

    • @rzfhlvb
      @rzfhlvb Рік тому +1

      no driver is perfect, there are always flaws and excesses. BA isnt always good, sometimes DD much better than BA. economic law works where there is price there is quality.

    • @quadrannilator
      @quadrannilator Рік тому +1

      I would agree with Yuppo. The driver quality, and especially how smooth, yet detailed revealing extended resolving treble performance is, will command a price. ESTs as a generel rule are better treble performers, than traditionally cheaper BAs but a good BA can certainly exceed a mediocre EST driver's performance. Tuning and Implementation are what count. If you hear a lot of variety, you will also start noticing shell resonances and how their material impact the timbre. What you have understood till now is not untrue, but a rough generalization. EST drivers in IEMs are new thing. The best multi-thousand flagships still today use BAs because that's what has been around till now, and so many reviewers like Elysian Acoustics products - its the driver selection, tuning, implementation and how much work you put in to it to achieve the intended results, that will create a better IEM than just slapping an EST driver. Just look at how many BAs that KZ cram into their sets, still they're not SoftEars.

    Hello, just got second device and after a month of use, again loose battery, noise when shaking the device. Creating playlists in this device is almost impossible. I have spent more time packing the device and communicating with hiby and other retailers than actually listening to it ... NEVER AGAIN ... Cowon was best.

  • @wiesolos
    @wiesolos Рік тому

    For IEMs, honestly no need to invest in DAPs really but invest your money in the quality receivers. You won't notice a drastic step-up in the sound quality. The reality is that, even the self-proclaimed "audiophiles" aren't able to distinguish between all the DAPs in a blind test. It's all about the synergies between your DAP and receiver that could slightly alter the sound to more your liking (preference)

      Exactly. This is pure placebo effect. But what matters for me is build quality, UI and redundancy. This player has no android, so it won't feel ancient in 5 years, and since I never use streaming/bluetooth, that would be the perfect choice for me.
      Except it doesn't have parametric eq and the jacks are on top which is a deal braker for me. Going with r6 III instead.
