Infantry are just small fleshy tanks without much if any armor and usually carrying itty bitty cannons, though sometimes they can team carry some bigger small cannons.
The engagement reminded me that a friend of mine, a former Army tanker, referred to dismounts as "crunchies" and that "Driver - Tracks - Troops" is an understood command.
One thing I'd hope to see in a game like this is HESH/HEP getting it's greatest strength realised in a game. It took me *years* find out that *the* thing HESH is truly great at is crushing structures; but destructible structures are one of the rarer things to see, even in modern gaming. I hope this game plans to add that, and make the interaction with weaponry as realistic as they can.
Its crazy how important historically the Fulda Gap actually is. Napoleon used it to retreat and invade, and post WWII it was considered the main route of attack for the soviets and it was heavily defended.
Dude, this is awesome! I especially love the after action report showing all the rounds that hit and what damage they caused. I'd even like seeing the rounds that missed to see where all the gunfire through smoke or at partially concealed targets ended up. Maybe more of an overhead view that you could scroll through the time, just showing every round fired. Very neat video, I look forward to more from this game!
Me, perforating a Soviet infantryman: "Poor lil' feller" Also not to nitpick too much but is it an oversight that the Warsaw Pact isn't using green tracers?
Reminds me of Force on Force Simnet back in 1989 in Schweinfurt Germany vs Simnet facility back in Fort Knox Ky. Of course we didnt really have infantry. I can remember leading my platoon of M1A1s on a similar mission to stop a Soviet task force.
I like the attention to detail that has gone into the infantry models, correct unfiroms equipment and weaponry, east germans carrying east german aks and all that. Nice stuff
You can tell the game is taking some creative liberties becasue the soviets did not start the engagement with a several days long artillery barrage first
I tried letting this mission play out without doing anything (so the M60s never showed up). The Americans managed to destroy all but one BTR with LAWs and most of the East German infantry. Then I tried it again but with the East Germans bringing BMP-2s. That time, the East Germans had already nearly won by the time they dismounted.
I love how the APCs are now more useful carrying infantry around. And that you can kill an entire team if you kill an APC in time. Now can infantry survive and deploy in some cases or if the APC is taken out they die by default?
When an apc is abandoned by its crew before the dismount point, any infantry that is alive and able to fight will bail out and try to continue the mission.
Gentlemen, now with the presence of the assault infantry, things will become more brutal and relentless. On my PC, the Game Demo worked very well without any problems, but now that the Game has been purchased, it is no longer working and the screen goes black.
WOLFPACK!!!!! Awesome video!!! I have been a big fan of your naval combat simulation’s, that you have done. I hope you are going to many more of these GHPC’s missions. As always, great narrative, by you during the missions, and tactical mindset, of what is going on in the battle space. Look forward to the next one!!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!!
wow... flash back... mid 80s Fulda Gap.. We were expected to get over run in the first wave as screening Cavalry, 11th ACR. And most of the M113s yea would be toasted and dismounts running amok with as many Laws as one could carry. And hopefully if survived waves 1 and 2 make way to the forest hope to join up with the West German Rangers, hook up with a hide site and continue to Observe and report, spot and try not to die.. while playing gopher/ spotter. Then again that assault was expected to happen under cover of a chemical or tac nuke strike, worst case... lol best case just a 15 to 1 artty ratio bombardment for a couple hours.. Old apcs were not barrage protection in any fashion.
No, the right arm is in front of him, we just don't see it from the back. GHPC doesn't have dismemberment for infantry models (gonna save those megahertz and age ratings, I guess)
I LOVE how the devs made all these too-good-to-be-true, bucket-list promises…and then proceeded to deliver them one by one by one. Massive respect, guys!
I'm so glad they've added infantry. All I need now is co-op support so me and my crew can control an entire platoon together and that will just be tops!
There is another tank commander game (Armoured Commander), where you can play as a tank crew of a WW2 tank. It doesn't have that nice graphics, but is still fun to play. This video make me think of that game. Keep up the good work :-)
are the campaign/preset missions that were made before this update added with infantry in it or only this/upcoming missions? would be nice to see you play more of this
I wonder if visual effects of APFSDS hits against armored vehicles are going to be upgrade to more flashy and sparking like seen in videos from Ukraine. There you can really see the difference between hitting dirt and hitting a armored things, some of armor hits looks almost like HEAT explosions, but with more sparks and without black smoke.
i love puttin it on super mega bullet time, and then firing off a tank round at the opps, and then "free camera" and follow that tank round with the camera all the way to its imaace. This game is sooo poggers(as the kids say these days)
You know, dealing with infantry during defense missions would actually be cool. Just seeing a wave of boots cresting the hill, half of them with RPGs is sure to give the commander a heart attack.
Man, I really want to like playing this game bc there is so much done right, and I understand where the devs are coming from when they say they want to aiming of the cannon the way it is. But man, I'm complete dogshit with it and I wish they weren't so adamant about refusing to add additional aiming modes. Pretty cool to see infantry now though. Maybe I'll redownload a bit to try it out
How lethal are the infantry though? They should be able to at least fire RPGs at tanks and APCs. Do they just run mindlessly across open fields, or do they try to use cover/forests?
Having infantry duck when under fire is already more advanced enemy AI than like 90% of video games lol
Of modern videogames* it feels like the richer is a company the less effort they put in their products
That’s why I play the likes of Graviteam titles and the original OFP. The rest are crappola
@@getrekt572dude I played MOH airborne this year and omg that ai is stunning compared to today
MoH Airborne isn’t realistic though
Having infantry duck when under fire is more advanced that 90% of human players, also. :D

They're not called crunchies for nothing
😂
They're also stealthy as heck and can surprise the canned meat ... err ... tanks, on occasion.
Microbes as your crew
Infantry or what tank crews call them crunchies.
I completely forgot how insanely good the voice acting in this game is
I also noticed this, combined with the action soundscape it feels so real
We’ll play it more devs need support and feedback
They held the VAs at gunpoint
It really helps make it what it is. I can’t speak for the Soviet/Russian, but the American and German tankers sound fantastic.
It really is. When you're playing, it adds so much intensity and legitimate stress to every encounter. It's awesome.
I’ll never get over how good the particle and smoke effects are in GHPC.
Its nice that its both subdued and yet feels impactfull.
The engagement reminded me that a friend of mine, a former Army tanker, referred to dismounts as "crunchies" and that "Driver - Tracks - Troops" is an understood command.

Would be cool to have Forces of West Germany too, since infantry has come.
They are coming

Holy fuck man the voice acting and radio is so unsettlingly good
I just wish the WarPac guys fired green tracers instead of red. That's my only gripe with GHPC.

You'd think they'd use red, being, you know, Communists. And we'd use blue. It's 1985, people, didn't anyone watch GI Joe?

You can tell the game is taking some creative liberties becasue the soviets did not start the engagement with a several days long artillery barrage first
That is correct. In fact, they never started the engagement at all! 😊
I mean considering what type of story the game has, the war is intended to be quick and efficient. They don't have several days.
I’d love to have artillery barrages in game

Ah yes, crunchies. It wouldn't be a true armored warfare game without them... Specifically under your tracks.
Nice! Also, for your main gunsight’s coincidence range finding, adjust until the duplicate image lines up, then you’re ranged!
i hope they do an update where the ammo feeds through the weapon, god I love this game so much thank you for covering it :)

I use TrackIR 5 for flight sims, so I'm curious whether GHPC supports head tracking.
